Declichy Boulevard– Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 700m was hampered and carried wider by Triple Yes, which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover from the 600m.

Anarita– Approaching the 800m was checked from the heels of Vanessi when that runner suffered interference.

Darn Cute– After being crossed by Aranita approaching the 800m then commenced to race ungenerously when the tempo of the race reduced. This resulted in Darn Cute being checked from the heels of Aranita near the 700m.

Go Zola– From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Good Sort– On jumping shifted in and made contact with Poised. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.

Lovehunter– On jumping was bumped by Cinsault, which shifted out.

Poised– Shortly after the start was bumped by Good Sort, which shifted in, and became momentarily unbalanced.

Vanessi– Approaching the 800m shifted in and away from Good Sort and, as a consequence, was checked from the heels of Humid, which also laid out slightly at that point. Held up from the 350m until passing the 150m.

Zouphisticate– From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. When the tempo reduced in the middle stages, commenced to race keenly and for some distance after the 800m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of Cinsault. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Triple Yes– Raced keenly in the early stages and approaching the 800m was checked to avoid the heels of Vanessi, when that runner suffered interference. Triple Yes then commenced to race ungenerously and was shifted to the outside of Good Sort near the 700m. Triple Yes, when caught wide, then was allowed to stride forward to race outside the leaders, albeit three wide without cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame (1/5) in the off-foreleg. Trainer representative Mr J. Crowley was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required before Triple Yes is permitted to race/barrier trial again.

RACE 2: Drinkwise Plate 1100m:

Simply Nutbush– From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Khaznah– On jumping was hampered when crowded between Plaza and Tartaglia, both of which shifted ground. Near the 50m was bumped by Plaza when that runner was taken out slightly by Tartaglia.

Plaza– On jumping shifted in and bumped Khaznah. Near the 75m was crowded between Khaznah and Tartaglia (App. Z. Lloyd), which shifted out when not clear. App. Lloyd was advised to exercise more care.

Te Pani– K. McEvoy could offer no explanation for the performance of the filly, however, advised that he recommended to connections to add a tongue-tie to its gear as he noticed prior to the event that Te Pani got its tongue back. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Tartaglia– On jumping shifted out and bumped Khaznah.

True Amor– Slow to begin (3L).

Zealously– Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

RACE 3: TAB Plate 1300m:

Feimazuo– Slow to begin.

Fire Island– Began only fairly.

I Am Famous– Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Snuba– T. Berry reported that after obtaining a position behind the leaders, Snuba travelled satisfactorily throughout the early and middle stages. He said, however, that when placed under pressure leaving the 600m the filly failed to respond to his riding, and he believed Snuba was experiencing some breathing difficulties and for this reason he then desisted from pressuring the filly over the final 150m. He noted that following the race Snuba was making an abnormal respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be slow to recover. Trainer Mr C. Waller was advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, will be required before Snuba barrier trials to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

So You Star– From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home turn and when placed under pressure in the straight.

RACE 4: All Too Hard @ Vinery Stud Handicap 1100m:

Llanddwyn – Slow to begin. Brushed with Cosmonova near the 75m.

The Extreme Cat – When questioned regarding his riding in the middle stages and as to whether there was an opportunity to maintain the position between Cosmonova and Yendy leaving the 700m, C. Schofield stated that with the genuine tempo of the race The Extreme Cat was travelling comfortable throughout the middle stages. He said that he could have placed his mount under more pressure to hold this position, however, having regard to the tempo that was being set, he was reluctant to do so. He said he believed also that Yendy, which was racing in advance and to the outside of his mount, was shifting in to obtain a position in advance of his mount and for this reason he was reluctant also to improve approaching the 700m. He added that when Cosmonova then was able to shift away from the running rail approaching the first turn near the 600m, this then resulted in The Extreme Cat being held up and unable to improve rounding the home turn. He said that although he was able to place The Extreme Cat under some pressure soon after straightening, he was unable to obtain completely clear running until approaching the 100m where he shifted the gelding to the outside of Llandwynn. C. Schofield agreed with Stewards that, in hindsight, he should have made more effort to maintain his position between Cosmonova and Yendy, which ultimately would have prevented Cosmonova shifting out and would have given him a better chance of obtaining clear running at an earlier opportunity.

Cosmonova – Brushed with Llandwynn near the 75m.

Untouchable Legend – Reared as the start was effected.

Yendy – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Approaching the 100m when giving ground was eased to avoid the heels of The Extreme Cat (C. Schofield) when that runner shifted out when not fully clear. C. Schofield was advised to exercise more care.

Deceive – On jumping bumped with Invasive Dreams. From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Invasive Dreams – On jumping was bumped by Deceive, which shifted in. From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Held up from the 300m until passing the 200m where it was shifted to the inside of runners to continue into clear running. When closing off the race well, was unable to be fully tested over the final 25m when improving to be positioned close to the heels of Eye Of The Fire.

More Mischief – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

RACE 5: James Squire Handicap 2200m:

Our Maryanne– Slow to begin and from a wide barrier then was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1400m.

Marsabit– Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up from the 350m until approaching the 200m.

RACE 6: Triple Time @ Darley Handicap 1300m:

Marnix– On jumping was bumped by Doola Teela. Raced keenly in the middle stages. N. Rawiller (Atlantic Ocean) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 100m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Marnix, which lost its rightful running and had to be checked. N. Rawiller’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday 9 June 2024 and to expire on Wednesday 19 June 2024, on which day he may ride.

Rebel Shadow– Slow to begin. Leaving the 50m was steadied when crowded by Atlantic Ocean (N. Rawiller), which shifted in when not clear. N. Rawiller was reprimanded.

Atlantic Ocean– Held up from the 400m until near the 150m where it was shifted to the inside of French Marine to secure clear running. Near the 50m, after shifting in, had to be corrected by its rider and, as a result, was not fully tested to the finish.

Defining– On jumping was bumped by Smart Little Miss, which shifted in.

Smart Little Miss– On jumping shifted in and bumped Defining.

Sovereign Express– Near the 150m was inconvenienced after being brushed by Hide Your Heart, which shifted out from behind the heels of West Of Africa to continue into clear running.

West Of Africa– From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Cool Lad– Shortly after the start was bumped by Hide Your Heart, which shifted in after being bumped by Soveriegn Express. Held up from the 400m until near the 100m where it was placed under pressure briefly before again being held up when positioned close to the heels of Pokerjack and, as a consequence, was unable to be fully tested.

Doola Teela– On jumping was bumped by Marnix.

RACE 7: Precise Air Handicap 1200m:

Southern Chilli– From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Ringarosa– Blundered on jumping and from a wide barrier then was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Molly Nails– On jumping shifted in and bumped Amati. Approaching the 100m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Amati (J. McDonald), which shifted out when not clear. J. McDonald was advised to exercise more care.

Chilli Filly– From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame (1/5) in the near-foreleg. Trainer's representative Mr D. Greer was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required before Chilli Filly is permitted to race/barrier trial again.

Tsarina Sophia– A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Amati– On jumping was bumped by Molly Nails, which shifted in.

Look Only– When questioned regarding her riding over the concluding stages and as to whether she had ridden her mount out fully to the end of the race, App. M. Bourke stated that when pressuring Look Only in the straight the mare was inclined to lay out. She said over the concluding stages she felt her mount dip on a couple of occasions, which resulted in her stopping riding to balance up the mare. She said that due to this she did not test Look Only fully to the end of the race. Whilst acknowledging the narrow margin between Look Only, which was placed 6th, and Molly Nails, which was placed 5th, Stewards noted App. Bourke’s explanation and, accordingly, took no further action.

RACE 8: Admire Mars at Arrowfield Handicap 1600m:

Inquiring Minds– N. Rawiller reported that when placed under pressure rounding the home turn his mount did not quicken as he had anticipated and he believed this to be due to the Soft (7) track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be slow to recover.

Time Quest– App. Z. Lloyd, rider of 2nd placegetter Time Quest, lodged a protest against Danish Prince (R. King) being declared winner, alleging interference near the 150m. After taking evidence from the relevant parties, it was established that near the 200m Danish Prince shifted away from the running rail, which presented a run to the inside for Time Quest to improve into. Shortly after Time Quest established this run, Danish Prince shifted in, causing crowding to Time Quest, which became unbalanced. Bearing in mind the manner in which both runners finished off the race and the margin at the finish of a half head, Stewards were comfortably satisfied that had this interference not occurred Time Quest would have finished in advance of Danish Prince and they upheld the protest. Accordingly, the placings were amended as follows: 1st Time Quest, 2nd Danish Prince, 3rd Always Sure, 4th Loco. Soon after straightening was steadied when disappointed for a run between Danish Prince and Knights Armour, which shifted in. Time Quest then was held up until approaching the 200m.
