Our Belle Fille– rider J Ford reported that it was not his intention to settle as far forward as he did, but after beginning well, and without having to overly pressure his mount, he was able to take advantage of the good start and settled in a more forward position.  He further added that in his view, the filly would be better suited when ridden more conservatively.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be slow to recover.

Pindarra’s Dream– slow to begin.  When questioned regarding his riding on entering the home straight, rider B Ryan explained that after being held up rounding the home turn, upon entering the home straight, he observed a run to the inside of Rupertaar and rather than remain held up, he elected to shift to the inside of Rupertaar to take advantage of this run.  He added that after obtaining this run, Rupertaar commenced to shift in under pressure resulting in Pindarra’s Dream being unable to obtain clear running and as a result he was obliged to steady and remained held up for some distance passing the 150m. He further added, over the concluding stages, again raced tight to the inside of Rupertaar and could not be tested to the finish.  Near the 150m, had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between Rupertaar (App J Duggan) which shifted in under pressure.   App J Duggan was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Amungee– raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover, from its wide barrier.  Passing the 800m had to be eased from the heels of Miss Anticipation which was taken out.

RACE 4 – Keeneland Handicap 1600m

Sonic Tycoon– began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with Real Peace.  A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which commenced to weaken over the final 200m, revealed the gelding to be coughing.  Trainer Mr B Widdup was advised that a veterinary examination, including the results of an endoscopic examination, would be required prior to Sonic Tycoon being permitted to barrier trial or race again.

Prince Of Arragon– began only fairly, and shortly afterwards was crowded for room between White Boots and Travest, both of which shifted ground.   Prince Of Arragon was then shifted behind runners in the early stages.  Rider K Latham reported that the gelding was not suited settling back with the genuine tempo.   He said that as a result, the gelding was unable to finish the race off.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

White Boots– from the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.  App T Sherry reported that it was his intention to settle in a more forward position, however after beginning only fairly, when it appeared to be a genuine tempo in the early stages, his mount was unable to show the necessary speed to obtain a forward position and therefore when caught racing wide, he elected to restrain White Boots and obtain a position with cover at the rear of the field.  He further added that White Boots was inclined to lay in rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home turn, proving somewhat difficult to ride out in his normal manner.

So Sneeky– laid out rounding the home turn.

Montserrat– began only fairly.  Near the 150m, when weakening, had to be steadied when tightened for room between Zell and Savoury, which shifted in.  When questioned regarding the performance, App T Sherry explained that he was not entirely disappointed with the performance given that Montserrat was first up over an unsuitable distance.   He added that Montserrat will take a fitness benefit and may appreciate stepping up in distance.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover.
