Oslo – was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 12.46pm after dislodging its rider en route to the barriers. The Stewards ruled that all monies invested on Oslo be refunded in full and that all successful wagers made prior to 12.46pm be subject to the following deductions in the face value of each ticket:
1st Quatum – 22 cents win, 15 cents place.
Stable representative Mr S McLean was advised that an official warning would be recorded against Oslo for its pre-race manners.

RACE 2 – All Too Hard @ Vinery Handicap 1300m

Divine Approach – after beginning awkwardly was then shifted behind runners in the early stages. Hung out throughout the middle stages.
Invincible Dash – was slow to begin and then from its wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Hung in rounding the home turn and when under pressure in the early part of the straight.
I Am Grande – raced keenly throughout the middle stages.
Aeecee Beau – rider T Clark reported that his mount travelled well throughout the early and middle stages, however the gelding came under pressure approaching the 500m. He said that although Aeecee Beau has won previously on a heavy surface, he felt the gelding, which was up in grade today, did not handle today's track conditions, particularly given the manner in which Aeecee Beau failed to respond to his riding the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co-trainer Mr A Bott expressed disappointment with the performance of the gelding but agreed with the explanation provided by T Clark. Mr Bott undertook to report back to the Stewards on the post race condition of the gelding.
RACE 3 – Bowermans Commercial Furniture Handicap 2200m
Continuation – as H Bowman was overweight, the Stewards permitted B Avdulla to be substituted as the rider of the gelding. H Bowman was reprimanded under AR190(3). Began only fairly and was then shifted behind runners in the early stages. Rider B Avdulla reported that when the tempo of the race slackened in the middle stages, he allowed his mount to improve and obtain the lead passing the 700m.
Red Hot Chillypins – after being slow to begin, was bumped heavily by Euginio, then shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Joe's Joy – raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up for clear running and unable to improve from the 600m and passing the 400m, was steadied when racing tight to the inside of She's A Treasure. Joe's Joy was then held up until inside the 400m when shifted to the outside of The Bounty.
She’s A Treasure – approaching the 500m, Triskana (A Hyeronimus) shifted to the outside of the heels of She's A Treasure and in doing so, made contact with Euginio. For some distance thereafter, Triskana and Euginio made contact on a number of occasions resulting in Triskana becoming unbalanced, shifting in and away from Euginio resulting in She's A Treasure having to be steadied when crowded between Triskana and The Bounty. A Hyeronimus was advised to exercise more care and to ensure there is sufficient room to improve into. Passing the 600m, was eased when briefly crowded by Continuation, which shifted in marginally. A post race veterinary examination of She’s A Treasure revealed no abnormalities.
Lady Highly – was held up rounding the home turn and passing the 450m, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarter of Red Hot Chillypins resulting in that runner becoming unbalanced. Rider J Collett reported that his mount hung out from the 400m.

Rider T Clark reported that the colt, which was up in grade today, did not handle the heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr B Widdup advised it would be his intention to drop the colt back in grade for its next race start. Mr Widdup undertook to report back on the post race condition of the colt.
Holy Reign – was bumped shortly after the start by Deepfield's Raine.
Bergen – from a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Jin Chi Phantom – approaching the 1200m, when racing keenly, was briefly crowded for room between Eden Vale and Royal Banquet (L Magorrian), which shifted in before rider L Magorrian relieved the pressure being applied to Jin Chi Phantom. L Magorrian was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Eden Vale – when questioned regarding the gelding leading today, rider R Murray stated that with the anticipated genuine early tempo, she was instructed to ride in a midfield position. She said, however, from the inside barrier, when the tempo in the early stages was only moderate, Eden Vale, after beginning satisfactorily, commenced to race keenly and as a result was able to obtain a prominent position and consequently settled further forward than what she had intended.
Carluca – rounding the turn near the 500m raced in restricted room between Deepfield’s Raine and Herzegovina, which shifted out.

So Wicked – began only fairly. Rider B Avdulla reported that he was able to obtain a favourable position with cover throughout the run. He said that upon straightening, So Wicked was briefly hampered by Threeood, which shifted out, however he added that the mare was disappointing in the manner in which it finished its race off from this point. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Mandalong Kiss – from its wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Lexi's Choice – raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn before shifting to the inside of Carte Blanche on straightening to continue into clear running. Lexi's Choice then laid out under pressure resulting in its rider T Clark having to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 200m. Lexie's Choice then continued to lay out for the remainder of the event.
Threeood – raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
Our Girl Sniti – after passing the 300m, laid out, and approaching the 250m, had to be steadied from the heels of Bowery Breeze which was taken in slightly by Threeood.

Epic Dan – on jumping was bumped on the hindquarter by Wander, which was taken in as a consequence. Epic Dan became unbalanced and made contact with The Fire Trap. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
