Sky Racing’s form expert, TONY BRASSEL, checks out prospective winners after the barriers trials last week.

Check out all the trials in the Catch Up section on theSky Racing website or the Sky Racing Active app.

CROSS STEP (Scone 31 March, Heat 14)
3f, Olympic Glory – Just Dancing, Paul Messara
Yet to race but likely to give some swish whenever produced. She was never worse than second when a bold Scone trial winner over 900m. The flashy miss was having her second barrier trial and Aaron Bullock hardly tested her fully. Dam won Randwick’s Group 2 Furious Stakes (1400m).
Nominated Muswellbrook Maiden Handicap, Friday, April 9

GOLDEN GUNNERS (WFarm 1 April, Heat 6)
2c, Pride Of Dubai – Nazca, Richard Litt
Unveiled for the first time when he came from the rear to beat blueblood CORK HARBOUR, a talented Chris Waller-trained colt. This fellow accelerated rapidly in the straight to give Waller’s colt a start and a beating. A bit of size about him, too - smart type.

NICCI TRIX (Port Macquarie 3 April, Heat 2)
3f, Nicconi – Abel Miss, Jenny Graham
Has won two of four runs on the NSW North Coast and back from a four month holiday. She was straight onto the leading spot when a runaway trial winner at Port Macquarie on April 3. Ashley Morgan hardly pressured the speedy type yet the official margin was close to five lengths. Seemed as though it could have been eight!

PERFECT RADIANCE (WFarm 1 April, Heat 3)
3f, Snitzel – Altair’s Glow, Joe Pride
Nuggety ex-Kris Lees filly coming off two solid hit-outs for the new stable. Followed a second to smart TAILLEUR in a Kembla heat with a distant second to SHADOW COLOUR in fast time. Although six lengths astern of the winner, she was hardly asked for top speed. Two-time Newcastle winner and placed at Randwick in five runs.
Nominated Randwick P.J. Bell Stakes, Saturday, April 10

STATESVILLE (WFarm 1 April, Heat 1)
3g, Written Tycoon – Nicked And Court, James Ponsonby
Here’s another one jumping stables. Ex-Queenslander with a Beaudesert maiden win to his credit. Joined a progressive stable and gave Kiwi Group 1 winner AEGON a run for his money in a Warwick Farm heat. He was just tipped out after travelling prominently. Can pay his way in the new environment.

STREET POWER (Scone 31 March, Heat 8)
3g, Street Boss – Grace and Power, Brett Cavanough
Clocked the fastest 900m figure at Scone’s big trial session last week. A big fellow himself, the two-run veteran dominated from the outset, also running the quickest final 600m (33.44s). Half-brother to Chris Waller’s Group 1 winner DELECTATION and comes off a top Gosford maiden win on December 29.
Nominated Muswellbrook Class 2 Handicap, Friday, April 9
Nominated Doomben 3YO Quality Handicap, Saturday, April 10

WEDGED (Scone 31 March, Heat 15)
3g, Outreach – Lonhro’s Spirit, Brett Cavanough
Could be primed for a strong debut after snaring a 900m Scone trial. Posted the second fastest time (53.77s) of the session and given a rev by Serg Lisnyy - just to clean out the cobwebs. His only previous appearance was a pacy display to win a 900m Muswellbrook trial last November.
Nominated Muswellbrook Maiden Handicap, Friday, April 9

WINSIDE (Scone 31 March, Heat 9)
3f, Sidestep – She’s All Ours, Mark Schmetzer
Very impressive upon debut last October, she trounced a Muswellbrook maiden field by three lengths. Has since trialled powerfully at Muswellbrook and Scone. Ran second at the Scone trials when under a big grip. The winner THE FIRST RING recorded fourth fastest time for 900m (53.84s) - this filly coasted alongside.
Nominated Muswellbrook Class 2 Handicap, Friday, April 9
Nominated Taree Class 1 Handicap, Saturday, April 10
