Fresh off a Caulfield Cup win last week, Chris Waller has top mare Funstar ready to roll after a home-track trial. Plus TONY BRASSEL has spotted a big two-year-old Waller has destined for success.

Check out all the trials in the Catch Up section on the Sky Racing website or the Sky Racing Active app.

FUNSTAR (Rosehill, Heat 6)
(4m, Adelaide – Starspangled. Trainer: Chris Waller)
Second to arch-rival PROBABEEL in the Epsom and Team Waller has her ticking over beautifully. Much the same throughout when fourth to IRUKANDJI at the Rosehill session, yet Tommy Berry had her under heavy restraint from the moment the gates opened.
Currently TAB odds are - Golden Eagle $7, Cantala Stakes $15, Empire Rose Stakes $15, Mackinnnon Stakes $15.

HEAD OF STATE (Rosehill, Heat 3)
(2c, American Pharoah – Derelique. Trainer: Chris Waller)
Fetched $850,000 at the Magic Millions yearling sale. He’s a rangy, beaut-moving half-brother to G2 and G3 winner MAN FROM UNCLE. Sat off the lead in last week’s Rosehill heat then, with giant strides, bounded up to win like a very good prospect.

INTREPIDACIOUS (Hawkesbury, Heat 4)
(4m, Shooting To Win – Courageous Kitty. Trainer: John O’Shea)
Trials like a jet most times and her race form isn’t too shabby either with four sprints to her credit. That includes a recent runaway first-up Warwick Farm win. It was more of the same at Hawkesbury earlier this week. Over 1000m she clocked second-best time of 58.85s, leading throughout as we’d expect.

NAJMAH (Rosehill, Heat 9)
(3f, Snitzel – Najoom. Trainers: Hawkes Racing)
Yet to race, she’s the winner of three barrier trials from four outings. Co-leader for most of last week’s 900m trial and scooted away like a natural. It sure seems like she’s being set-up for a dashing display whenever the wraps come off.

NAJMATY (Hawkesbury, Heat 9)
(2f, I Am Invincible – Najoom. Trainers: Peter and Paul Snowden)
Half-sister to previously mentioned NAJMAH. Her first public trial resulted in a powerful Hawkesbury win over 800m (48.19s) and their mum NAJOOM won the 2015 Hawkesbury Guineas. This youngster trailed the field then hurtled past her rivals with ease. Surprise, surprise - Team Snowden is powering along with 2020 juvenile runners.

ONCHAO (Rosehill, Heat 9)
(3c, Medaglia D’Oro – Grand Daughter. Trainer: Mark Newnham)
Eased to six lengths last before his surge caught the eye behind slick winner NAJMAH. Running second, the unraced colt has trialled a few times so far, sharing the lead to bolt away with a Warwick Farm trial in September.

READY TO SOAR (Rosehill, Heat 8)
(3f, More Than Ready – Wedgetail Eagle. Trainers: Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou)
Hasn’t raced since a placing at Orange last April. Her two pacy barrier trial wins suggest a slick return and she gave rivals a lesson taking her Rosehill trial by 5.5 lengths. Exploded to the front and stretched her two lengths lead from the home turn. Won’t stay a maiden for long.

ROMANI GIRL (Rosehill, Heat 5)
(5m, Reliable Man – Gypsy Jewels. Trainer: Chris Waller)
Chased the field throughout in the 900m heat won by EDISON. That’s hardly surprising as her style is to potter around before cutting loose. But Brenton Avdulla utilized no vigour and she ran through the finish keenly. Has figured in the money three times from four goes first-up.
