Black type winners like DAWN PASSAGE, EXHILARATES and VILLAMI shaped up keenly during last Tuesday’s Rosehill trial session. TONY BRASSEL has focused on a few lesser knowns for this week’s edition.

Check out all the trials in the Catch Up section on the Sky Racing website or the Sky Racing Active app.

ALLORO (Heat 10)
(3f, Tavistock – Baltika. Trainer: Bjorn Baker)
Big, well-developed filly and a half-sister to 2016 G1 Atkins Stakes winner SACRED ELIXIR. Her second trial resulted in a powerful 900m win when Jason Collett sooled her along the inside.

(3f, Star Witness – The Magic Moment> Trainers:Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou)
Unraced and untrialled before Tuesday’s victory at Rosehill. She led most of the way and looked raw, but in a narrow victory there was much to like about her manner. Full-sister to Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) winner MAGIC ALIBI.

(4m, Per Incanto – Savamour. Trainers Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou)
One of several fine performers from this stable. Her only run was a Kembla 1000m maiden win last summer. Two recent trials indicate she’s instantly ready to win – Tuesday’s close second at Rosehill a case in point. She led then pressured stablemate VILLAMI, a swift Randwick stakes-winner.

(6g, Exceed And Excel – Dazzler. Trainer: James Cummings)
Winner of six from 20 starts and many of those victories occur when he’s fresh. Certainly looked full of running when ‘necked’ big time behind another smart trialler of the morning, SO TAKEN.

EASIFAR (Heat 12)
(3f, Pride Of Dubai – Storm Fronts. Trainer: Chris Waller)
James McDonald has been on this rangy, unraced filly a couple of times in her four trials. There’s merit in each appearance, none more so than Tuesday’s soft 900m win when she was never worse than second. From the revered DENISE’S JOY family.

(3c, Spill The Beans – Love Of Liberty. Trainers: Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou)
All was revealed in his first trial when too good at Rosehill. On the speed and wide throughout, the robust chestnut throws more to maternal grandsire GENERAL NEDIYM, an absolute speed machine. This colt just pipped another hot, unraced maiden in TUSCAN GAZE.

NEBULA (Heat 13)
(4g, Deep Field – Twirl. Trainers: Hawkes Racing)
From the same stable as his brilliant sire and a bay, ball of muscle like him too. Bred to fly – his grandmum CIRQUE DU SOLEIL was FASTNET ROCK’s baby sister. He led throughout to make it two trial wins from four hit-outs. Unraced.

SNAZZ ‘N’ CHARM (Heat 8)
(4g, Snitzel- Miss Charming. Trainer: Matthew Dunn)
Cruised around near the tail in a previous Warwick Farm trial before Tuesday’s impressive display. He was hardly serious racing alongside IRITHEA, the winner of eight races. Top work by this winner of a mere Newcastle maiden last June.
