A veterinary inspection of HERCULES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
STEEL WIN and THE BEST HERO were sent for sampling.

INFINITE POWER (M F Poon) began only fairly and then became unbalanced after bumping SMART FOLKS. After the race, M F Poon reported that after racing wide and without cover throughout the race, INFINITE POWER did not travel strongly at any stage and then in the Straight failed to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of INFINITE POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DRAGON KINGDOM shifted out abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in JADE THEATRE and LUCKY RUBY losing ground when crowded for room inside COOLCELEB. After this, despite being ridden along, LUCKY RUBY was slow to muster speed.

SEIZE THE SPIRIT shifted out under pressure after the 200 Metres.
FOX CHEUNGER and M M JOHNNY bumped near the 150 Metres.
C Schofield (EASY FORTUNE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 50 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in under pressure, causing ALLOY STAR to be directed in onto SEIZE THE SPIRIT, resulting in SEIZE THE SPIRIT and ALLOY STAR bumping and both horse being hampered when unnecessarily crowded for room. In the circumstances, C Schofield was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 22 September 2021 and to expire on Monday, 27 September 2021 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
When questioned, H N Wong (SAM’S LOVE) reported that in the early stages he had to ride his mount along quite vigorously to maintain its position as SAM’S LOVE was giving ground. He said after the 1300 Metres he used the whip on one occasion at which stage the horse became badly unbalanced in its action and gave him the impression that it may have gone amiss. He said based on the manner in which SAM’S LOVE felt at this time and given that the horse was having difficulty maintaining its position, he elected to ease it out of the race. A veterinary inspection of SAM’S LOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SAM’S LOVE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial carrying a raceday saddle and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, C Y Ho (FOX CHEUNGER) said that, in his opinion, the horse may not have appreciated backing up following its run last weekend. He said after travelling in a good position throughout the race, after being shifted to the outside of WHO’S HORSE into clear running rounding the Home Turn, FOX CHEUNGER was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of FOX CHEUNGER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER KIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FOX CHEUNGER, GOLDEN FOUR and EASY FORTUNE were sent for sampling.

Race:5 (23) NGAU TAU KOK HANDICAP (Sec2) Class 4 1400 m

When being led out onto the track, LOTUS FAVORITES became fractious, resulting in M F Poon being dislodged. LOTUS FAVORITES then proceeded for a short distance riderless and bumped with a lead horse. LOTUS FAVORITES was then quickly recaptured with M F Poon remounting after which the horse proceeded to the Start. On arrival at the barriers, LOTUS FAVORITES was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Close to the finishing line, LOTUS FAVORITES was steadied away from the heels of LAPUTA.

Throughout the race, GUNNISON travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SPEEDY MOUSE, J Moreira stated that in the early stages he was unable to obtain cover and consequently SPEEDY MOUSE was required to race three wide and without cover in a forward position. He said SPEEDY MOUSE came under pressure at the 500 Metres and then, despite being ridden along, did not quicken as he anticipated. He added, despite being placed under heavy pressure in the early part of the Straight, SPEEDY MOUSE did not respond to his riding and then was disappointing over the concluding stages. He said whilst SPEEDY MOUSE was required to travel wide and without cover, in his opinion, this did not explain the horse coming under pressure as far out from the finish at the 500 Metres but did note that although SPEEDY MOUSE had raced successfully on the All Weather track prior to being imported into Hong Kong, this was the horse’s first start on the surface today. A veterinary inspection of SPEEDY MOUSE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of SO WE JOY and GOLD COMET immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SPEEDY MOUSE, FLYING BONUS and CANTSTOPTHEFEELING were sent for sampling.
