Race 1 - SPORTSBET NOBODY DOES IT EASIER PLATE - 1400 metres:

Fontaine Rouge Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and got its head up. ($1.65 favourite, 3rd placegetter). Rider Jamie Kah reported she was pleased with the way the filly finished its race off at Cranbourne on 17 May 2024, however noted she was disappointed with today's performance and was of the opinion Fontaine Rouge would benefit from contesting events of a greater distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Made The Effort Rider Jordan Childs reported that the plan was to ride his mount behind the leaders with cover, however after beginning well and with the slow tempo, he allowed the mare to stride forward and lead.

Race 2 TILE IMPORTER HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

Secretary Sue Difficult to load. Slow to begin and then was crowded by Winston which began awkwardly and shifted out. Trainer Chris Calthorpe was notified a warning would be recorded against the filly due to being difficult to load.

Femminile Slow to begin. Near the 1300m was eased away from the heels of Hazey Hill which shifted out.

Winston Began awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

Hazey Hill Near the 1300m was eased and shifted out away from the heels of Golden Warrior (J. Allen) which shifted in. Rider John Allen was notified to exercise more care. Laid out rounding the home turn and in the straight. Rider Linda Meech reported her mount raced greenly.

Race 3 VALE KALASHANI LAD - 1400 metres:

Arizona Activist Began awkwardly and got its head up. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Favanna Began awkwardly and then was hampered by Lotus Tower which shifted out. As a result, Favanna lost ground (2L).

Kirin Began awkwardly and was crowded for room. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Rider Jamie Mott reported it had been his intention to settle outside the leader, however after commencing awkwardly, the colt settled further back than intended. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame in the left foreleg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.

Race 4 SPORTSBET FAST FORM HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Mishare Slow to begin.

Nusumi Slow to begin. Made the home turn awkwardly.

Hey Bella Near the 900 was eased away from the heels of Somebodytolove (J. Childs) which shifted in when not quite clear. Rider Jordan Childs was severely reprimanded.

Amizetta Near the 200m was held up for a short distance and was obliged to shift out around the heels of Nusumi to continue into clear running. Rider Damian Lane reported the filly was beaten for speed through the early stages and as a consequence settled further back than intended.

Somebodytolove Rider Jordan Childs reported it had been his intention to settle in a handy position with cover, however when caught wide, elected to race forward and settled outside the leader.

Morisa Rider Jaylah Kennedy reported it had been her intention to settle in a forward position with the option of obtaining cover, however after beginning well and when caught wide, she elected to stride forward and obtain the lead. She explained the filly has a high cruising speed and when challenged by Somebodytolove approaching the 800m, she elected to maintain the lead. Jaylah Kennedy added her mount would derive benefit from today's run and appreciate tracks with more give.

Rasputina Slow to begin.

Jaykayann (NZ) Rider Tayla Childs reported in a slowly run race, her mount was not suited by the tempo, however she was satisfied with the manner in which her mount finished the race off and indicated Jaykayann (NZ) would now appreciate contesting events of a greater distance.
