Jack's Honour Rider Randy Tan reported the gelding failed to travel and was disappointing . As the gelding had left the course before undergoing a veterinary examination, a veterinary certificate will be required before racing again. Trainer Ray Besanko advised Stewards that Jack's Honour appeared to pull up satisfactorily.

Race 2 IVE > PRINT HANDICAP 1400 metres:

Correct weight was delayed to enable rider Jamie Kah (Camaguey, 3rd placegetter) to view the Stewards' patrol footage near the 150m. As both Jamie Kah and the Stewards were satisfied that there were insufficient grounds for a successful objection, correct weight was declared.

Daily Bugle Raced keenly in the early stages with its head up.

Frontman Rounding the home turn when looking to obtain clear running bumped with Little Schnitty, becoming unbalanced.

Under The Bridge (NZ) Rider Joe Bowditch pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip eight times prior to the 100m which is three times more than permitted (17 in totality). Joe Bowditch had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence midnight 24 February 2021 to expire midnight 3 March 2021, a total of 8 race meetings (3 metropolitan and 5 provincial.) Joe Bowditch was also fined $200. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account his guilty plea, good record and totality of whip strikes.

Apprentice Melissa Julius was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the end of the race. In assessing the matter, Stewards noted her actions did not affect the result of the race.

Blue Ocean (NZ) Slow to begin.

Night Passage Slow to begin and was then restrained from its wide barrier. Rider Luke Currie reported after the mare was slow to begin that he elected to restrain to settle with cover which was further back than intended.
