The Singapore Turf Club has revised its racing fixtures from 1 October to 31 December 2020.
The Raffles Cup will be held on 10 October, thereby providing a gap of two weeks from the Singapore Guineas on 26 September, which allows those who ran in the Singapore Guineas to also participate in the Raffles Cup.
The Queen Elizabeth II Cup and the Singapore Gold Cup will be held on 31 October and 21 November respectively.
This schedule will provide a smooth sequence over October and November for potential runners of these feature races to step up in distance from 1600m to 1800m, and ultimately, 2000m.
The Lion City Cup will be moved to 25 October in the absence of a sprint feature race during this period, adding balance to the racing fixtures.
Singapore horse racing will take place throughout the full month of December, with the Singapore Golden Horseshoe moved to 5 December from its original date of 26 July. The two-year-olds for which the race was originally meant will have turned three by then, which will give them more time to grow and mature.
