2020 Apollo Stakes: Tips And Race Preview

A crowd favourite heads the Tips and Race Preview for the 2020 Apollo Stakes at Randwick on Saturday, Happy Clapper will be in it a long time at good odds of $5.

Another key highlight with this year's Group 2 Apollo Stakes. Dreamforce looks to get all the favours in front, though notably the blinkers come back off.

HAPPY CLAPPER (1) went out a winner and by all indications he appears in fine fettle for his return off the back of two solid trials. Drawn to get a charmed run and while unlikely to be at his peak, he rarely runs a bad race. Sure to be in this for a long way.

DREAMFORCE (2) looks to get all the favours on-speed and while unlikely to love the conditions, the race sets up very well for him and he should prove hard to gun down. VERRY ELLEEGANT (9) will be better over further, but was trending the right way last preparation and the ear muffs notably come off. Has she turned the corner? ALIZEE (8) was fairly plain first up and hard to back her off that.

1st – 1 Happy Clapper

2nd – 2 Dreamforce

3rd – 9 Verry Elleegant

4th – 8 Alizee

2020 Light Fingers Stakes: Tips And Race Preview

Hard to get away from the class in the Tips and Race Preview for the 2020 Light Fingers Stakes, Libertini loves it fresh and is at $2.60.

Easily the main highlight of the afternoon with this year's Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes. Speed looks solid enough.

LIBERTINI (4) certainly wasn't disgraced in the Coolmore prior to a break, when third behind Exceedance/Bivouac. Not sure she is at her best on this sort of going, but no denying she is the best 1200m horse engaged. Wide draw keeps her out of trouble and she should prove very hard to beat.

KIAMICHI (1) has failed to fire at her last three starts, but gets her best chance here on her preferred wet ground. Has trialled well in the lead up and expect her to front up.

FLIT (3) will be better over further, but worth noting they put the blinkers on for the first time. She should be strong late, along with MISSILE MANTRA (5) who arguably should have beaten her in the Guineas.

1st – 4 Libertini

2nd – 1 Kiamichi

3rd – 3 Flit

4th – 5 Missile Mantra

2020 Triscay Stakes: Tips And Race Preview

Tips and Race Preview for the 2020 Triscay Stakes stays with a lover of these conditions, Pohutukawa is best when on the wet and is at $5.50.

Wide open affair with a number of these more than capable and 9/14 are first up. Expect a solid tempo over the 1200m journey.

POHUTUKAWA (5) failed to win last time in, but put up performances good enough to be winning this fresh. Should have no concerns with the conditions and the wide draw keeps her out of trouble. Talented and shapes as one of the hardest to beat.

REELEM IN RUBY (1) went to the paddock in winning form and has trialled well off a break. Another drawn out, but Clark knows her well and she is expected to make her presence felt. SWEET DEAL (2) went to another level last time in and looks to be right on track off the back of two handy trials. Nash sticks (4:3-1) and she looms as a major threat. NOIRE (3) will eat the mud and is more than capable.

1st – 5 Pohutukawa

2nd – 1 Reelem In Ruby

3rd – 2 Sweet Deal

4th – 3 Noire

2020 Southern Cross Stakes: Tips And Race Preview

Looking for Kris Lees to get the best out of one in the Tips and Race Preview for the 2020 Southern Cross Stakes, Special Reward is well placed at $3.10.

Small but competitive line up with a number of different form-lines converging in this year's Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes. Expect a true tempo.

SPECIAL REWARD (6) went down first up when no match late for Southern Lad, but no knock on that effort and he should improve sharply racing second up. Well placed down in the weights and looks to catch a few of these on the hop.

JUNGLE EDGE (1) is licking his lips with the prospect of the heavy track, but hasn't been missed by the handicapper. Still has to be respected. CASCADIAN (2) is unlikely to be anywhere near his top for this, but has trialled up very well and could surprise late. ASHLOR (4) sets up very well for this and remains under strong notice.

1st – 6 Special Reward

2nd – 1 Jungle Edge

3rd – 2 Cascadian

4th – 4 Ashlor
