Race analysis and race selections for Saturday's racing at Kranji:

RACE 1
1st Pick: ALMUGIR (6)
Lightly-raced maiden who could easily be open to further improvement in this grade.
2nd Pick: BLITZ POWER (1)
A mare in good form and has been close up in her last two starts. She has conditions to suit and can go close again.
3rd Pick: AWESOME CONQUEROR (9)
Slightly unlucky last time out and can atone with a solid effort here.
4th Pick: STAR EFFECT (5)
A winner last time. Has a bit more to do in this but is in good form and that certainly counts for plenty at this level.

RACE 2
1st Pick: UNSUNG HERO (8)
Resumes after a lengthy break and chance may well be taken with this fellow here. He has trialled well for this return to action and the form of his second run is good, this race shouldn't take too much winning. Interesting.
2nd Pick: MR SHOWMAN (1)
Was good in defeat when last seen and can take another step forward on the back of that run.
3rd Pick: LATENT POWER (3)
Ruan Maia jumps on board here and although he has been disappointing, he is an interesting runner here. One to watch the market on.
4th Pick: SUN COUNCIL (7)
Should have a part to play here and must include.

RACE 3
1st Pick: GOOD LUCK CHARM (8)
Up in grade and may find opposition a touch more difficult, but is in fine fettle. With no weight on his back, he can steal this.
2nd Pick: AL GREEN (2)
Not getting any younger but is still giving younger rivals something to worry about. Drawn wide but it’s okay as he drops back. Worth consideration.
3rd Pick: RESOLUTION (5)
Blotted his copybook at his last start. Was coming off a good run of one win and two seconds in four starts. Can atone in this.
4th Pick: THOMAS DE LAGO (3)
Stuck on well for fourth to Super Invincible at his last run. Has won twice over course and distance. Will be thereabouts.

RACE 4
1st Pick: SESON (10)
The form of his Restricted Maiden runs is the best on offer here and he can prove hard to beat in a weak race.
2nd Pick: GUNMETAL GREY (9)
Has trialled well prior to this and a bit like the top pick, he has more substance to his profile than most.
3rd Pick: QIJI STAR (4)
Best of the rest in this and has the form good enough to at least make the frame.
4th Pick: CLARTON SUPREME (2)
If it is a quartet you wish to play, then Clarton Supreme looks like the best option for such a bet, albeit tentative.

RACE 5
1st Pick: LEMON SQUASH (13)
In what is a terribly weak race by some distance (22-32 rated), the hope is that the first emergency can get a run but the best advice is to wait for the next race.
2nd Pick: OFFICIAL (5)
Looked to work okay and could go well.
3rd Pick: HOOGA NET (2)
Has a bit more form than most, so should be included here.
4th Pick: VESONTIO (9)
Include for the multiples if you really feel like you want to have such a bet.

RACE 6
1st Pick: MACEO (6)
Has shown enough to suggest this race is very winnable. Perhaps not to fully trust, but this is not a deep contest and he deserves another chance.
2nd Pick: JUST STARS (2)
Placed in his last couple of starts and the James Peters stable are in very good form. Can give the selection most to think about in this.
3rd Pick: TRAVIS (5)
Would need to improve on what he has shown so far but that isn't impossible in a race of this nature. Market watch.
4th Pick: LADY FAST (7)
Very poor display last time out and if putting that behind her, she should be involved at the finish.

RACE 7
1st Pick: PATTAYA (6)
Has strung up two wins in a row. Rarely disappoints. Hard to get past.
2nd Pick: RISE OF EMPIRE (9)
The Shane Baertschiger-Ruan Maia-Happily Stable combination (similar owners from Aramco Stable) is on a rampage. This one has found life a little harder in higher grade, but was never disgraced. Include in combination bets.
3rd Pick: ELITE SILVERGHOST (10)
Last run was very encouraging. Keep in mind.
4th Pick: CHICAGO STAR (2)
Unable to reproduce the form of his first win in Singapore. Led but compounded in straight. Place claims.

RACE 8
1st Pick: SMILING PROUD (4)
The run two back on this surface is the piece of form to judge him on and it is worth siding with him in an open race.
2nd Pick: SAYONARA (6)
Will be one of the favourites here and we can see why on recent form. Should go well.
3rd Pick: MR ROCKWELL (7)
Dangerous in a race like this and he worked nicely this week as well
4th Pick: PRINCE PEGASUS (9)
Not one to leave out under these conditions and it wouldn't be a shock to see a bold show from this Mark Walker runner.

RACE 9
1st Pick: TOBRUK (3)
Had been knocking on the door and duly rewarded connections with first win at last outing. Should be able to run out 1700m. Can go back-to-back.
2nd Pick: GOLD FAITH (1)
Two from three wins over course and distance. Has raced against better company than this. Go close.
3rd Pick: CODIGOS (6)
Still a maiden but has hit around the mark a few times. The longer the better.
4th Pick: ANGEL HALO (7)
Honest in this grade. Grinder who should make presence felt once again.

RACE 10
1st Pick: IN ALL HIS GLORY (4)
On an upward spiral. Step-up to mile will suit to a tee. Another bold show in store.
2nd Pick: MERYL (5)
Back in easier grade after Singapore Guineas defeat. In her defence, race was not made to suit. Best when she can dictate. Can bounce back.
3rd Pick: SHEPHERD'S HYMN (3)
Ridden out vigorously for the win last time out. Holding form. Can test favourite.
4th Pick: MANDRAKE (9)
Making good headway. Matter of time before he opens his account. Extra 200m suits. Interesting runner.

RACE 11
1st Pick: SUN STEP (5)
Made all at his last run. Has again drawn wide. Won’t surprise if he repeats the dose.
2nd Pick: TOM CAT (6)
Every chance second-up. Presented well but could not quite finish off. Barrier not as handy this time. May have to work a little bit more to find a good posie. Place chance.
3rd Pick: SATURDAY (9)
Not in the firing line at his comeback race. Can do much better. Drawn awkwardly but if he can tuck in with cover in the first half, he won’t be without a say. Blinkers back on.
4th Pick: MIG PIERRO (2)
No luck with barriers of late. Caught wide last start but still finished only less than two lengths off the winner Super Invincible. Drawn off the track again. Can sneak into the minors.
