NSW apprentice Elissa Meredith moved to ICU after scans

NSW apprentice jockey Elissa Meredith, involved in a fall at Gunnedah on Monday, has been moved to John Hunter Hospital's ICU to monitor two contusions on her brain, however, with no swelling or bleeds.

Meredith is intubated and in an induced coma for the present with no other injuries.

She was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle after she was thrown over her mount Starlink’s neck in Race 5 after the filly stumbled and fell 200m after the start of the 1600m race. The following races of the meeting were abandoned.
