When being crossed by FAST PACE (J Moreira) approaching the 1300 Metres, BIG TWO commenced to prove very difficult to settle. BIG TWO was then severely checked away from the heels of FAST PACE after the 1200 Metres as the tempo of the race steadied. BIG TWO then continued to over-race and had to be checked away from the heels of FAST PACE until near the 1000 Metres. J Moreira was told that whilst the racing manners of BIG TWO had contributed significantly to this incident which took place over some distance, nonetheless, in the opinion of the Stewards, he had steadied the tempo in such a manner which was going to make it awkward for any horse trailing FAST PACE at the relevant time. Accordingly, he was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he does not slacken the tempo of races such that horses and riders in trailing positions are not able to adapt in a timely manner to the change in tempo. After the race, it was reported that BIG TWO had sustained a small laceration to the left front leg.

Approaching the 450 Metres, AMAZING NEWS was shifted in away from the heels of BABY after being awkwardly placed behind that horse.
Over the concluding stages, HAPPY JAI JAI raced tight inside AMAZING NEWS which shifted in under pressure.
When questioned, Z Purton (HK DRAGON) stated that after racing in a three wide position with cover behind V CHEVALIERS for the majority of the race, he commenced to improve his position around that horse near the 500 Metres. He said HK DRAGON quickened satisfactorily rounding the Home Turn, however, at the entrance to the Straight its run ended and the horse then commenced to give ground. He said when HK DRAGON commenced to give ground, he noted that the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of HK DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

He said after placing STARRY NIGHT under pressure near the 400 Metres, the horse did not quicken rounding the Home Turn and then gave ground approaching and passing the 200 Metres which he attributed to tonight’s track conditions. A veterinary inspection of STARRY NIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of SO AWESOME and WINNING ICEY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
STARRY NIGHT, ABOVE ALL and EXCELLENT PEERS were sent for sampling.

JUMBO LEGEND was held up for clear running from passing the 200 Metres until after the 150 Metres. Then close to the finishing line, JUMBO LEGEND was awkwardly placed inside the heels of VIVA MAMA. Because of this, JUMBO LEGEND was not able to be fully ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
After the 150 Metres, LESLIE was held up when awkwardly placed behind DIAMOND SOARS. LESLIE then improved into tight running between DIAMOND SOARS and SUPER COMMANDER passing the 100 Metres.

Before being allowed to race again, SPICY GRILL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of MULTIMORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BINGO BINGO, ISLAND SHINE and WINS ALL were sent for sampling.

Race:7 (660) LAM TSUEN RIVER HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1800 m

Passing the 450 Metres, DR WINNING raced tight outside NEARLY FINE which improved to the outside of MAJESTIC VICTORY.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that from the outside barrier he was asked to attempt to position CINQUANTE CINQ in about midfield if possible. He said after CINQUANTE CINQ began well, he did not ride his mount along with a view to obtaining cover in midfield, however, when a considerable number of runners drawn more favourably than CINQUANTE CINQ were being ridden to obtain about a midfield position, he allowed his mount to continue forward in the early stages as he believed it would not have been in the best interests of the horse to steady his mount and obtain a trailing position behind those horses. He added that approaching the winning post on the first occasion CINQUANTE CINQ was left racing in a three wide position without cover and therefore passing the 1300 Metres he allowed his mount to improve forward of MAJESTIC VICTORY to obtain a position outside the lead which resulted in CINQUANTE CINQ racing in a more forward positon than had been intended.
After the race, it was reported that GAMEPLAYER TIMES was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GAMEPLAYER TIMES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of MAJESTIC VICTORY and DARCI JOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
