Godolphin weekend runners update

Godolphin's trainer James Cummings comments on the stable's runners at the Tancred Stakes meeting at Rosehill on Saturday.

Race 5 - E-Group Security Star Kingdom Stakes-Group 3  (Qlty)       (1200m)

KEMENTARI (AUS) - 5yo Gelding by Lonhro (AUS) out of Yavanna (AUS)
Regarding scratching last week:
“He drew wide over 1,100m last week and we decided to delay his return for this event.”
“A favourable draw and the 1,200m is more appealing and more in his hitting zone.”
“I feel the 1,200m first-up is more appealing.”
“It’s up to the horse to fulfil his destiny.”

Race 6 - Kia Tancred Stakes-Group 1  (WFA)       (2400m)

AVILIUS (GB) - 6yo Gelding by Pivotal (GB) out of Alessandria (GB)
“He’s looked well throughout this campaign, maybe too well.”
“But he hasn’t been at his absolute best, making me feel that he’s been half-a-run short.”
“This race has been his main target, he got to the line to finish third last start and this will be his first run over 2,400m in 12 months.”
“Having recovered well from the Ranvet, it is now a case of back up and bounce back.”

Race 7 - Vinery Stud Stakes-Group 1  (3yoF SW)       (2000m)

ASIAGO (AUS) - 3yo Filly by Medaglia d'Oro (USA) out of Disputes (AUS)
“She has a turn of foot at 1,600m that we believe can serve her well at 2,000m.”
“She also has the strength that comes after a couple of preparations.”
“Her best wins have come in the most important races, which suggests she rises to the occasion.”
“Asiago is a classic style of filly and this contest will quickly reveal her Group One credentials.”

Race 8 -  Jim Beam Emancipation Stakes-Group 2  (F&M SWP)       (1500m)

POHUTUKAWA (AUS) - 4yo Filly by Medaglia d'Oro (USA) out of Lumina (AUS)
“She couldn’t get mobile on the very heavy going in the Coolmore here two weeks ago.”
“That was a shame because she’s been ready to fire.”
“She’s trained since then in a way that suggests she has maintained that level.”

Race 9 - Doncaster Prelude-Group 3  (Qlty)       (1500m)

CASCADIAN (GB) - 5yo Gelding by New Approach (IRE) out of Falls of Lora (IRE)
“I can’t fault the way he’s going.”
“He’s progressed sensibly and safely, nothing earth-shattering, but solid.”

GAULOIS (AUS) - 5yo Gelding by Street Cry (IRE) out of Celts (AUS)
“He might still be smoking coming to the 300m.”
“I thought he might have been a victim at Newcastle last start after he beat a good field including the promising Shared Ambition over the mile on a heavy track at Warwick Farm when he raced on the speed.”
