Il Affare (NZ) Began awkwardly.

Mahashakti Began awkwardly with its head up.

Zousonic Disappointing. Rider Alana Kelly could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 2 YULONG NEXT GEN SPRINTERS FINAL - 1200 metres:

Vegas Raider Began awkwardly with its head up.

Gold Bucket Began awkwardly. Raced keenly through the early stages.

Zou Sensation Bounded at the start and was slow to begin. Laid in from the 200m.

Chaseton Weakened from the 300m. Rider Luke Nolen reported that in his opinion his mount was not suited by the Flemington straight and would be better suited racing around a turn. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Race 3 MSS SECURITY RIVETTE SERIES FINAL - 1400 metres:

Throntari Knuckled shortly after the start.

Black Orlov Raced three wide without cover.

My Yankee Girl Got its head up and overraced approaching the 800m.

Wrote To Arataki (NZ) Passing the 150m was steadied when tightened for room by Brookline (Z. Spain) which was laying in. Rider Daniel Moor reported the filly appeared a little agitated behind the barriers and was disappointing. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Matthew Williams advised that the filly would be spelled.

Liberated Girl (NZ) Rider Linda Meech reported the filly was disappointing and could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Pick Za Beans When questioned, rider Blaike McDougall reported he was given no specific instructions other than to let Brookline, which had drawn to his inside and expected to go forward, take him into the race. He added that when the inside horses had failed to show any intent to go forward, he then allowed Pick Za Beans to stride forward and lead the field. He further added that the filly at its previous run had shown a tendency to overrace through the early stages. Trainer Peter Moody confirmed the instructions given and added that he was expecting the filly to settle off the pace rather than going forward and leading.

Race 4 - KENNEDY TAJ ROSSI SERIES FINAL - LISTED - 1600 metres:

Skyphios Change of tactics: more forward. Steadied near the 1400m when racing keenly in restricted room between Kings Consort and Transzam which was shifting in. Continued to overrace passing the 1400m. Rider Harry Coffey reported that although his mount overraced in the early stages, the gelding was in his opinion very disappointing when placed under pressure in the straight. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Grinzinger Bishop (NZ) Slow to begin.

Ostile (NZ) Slow to begin.

Midnight Glow Slow to begin. Inconvenienced near the 500m.

Capital Elle Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced near the 500m when taken out off its course by Midnight Glow which in turn had been taken out by Anphina which faltered when taken out by Kings Consort (J. McNeil) which shifted to the outside of Quang Tri. Rider Jye McNeil was severely reprimanded.

Transzam Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room between Skyphios and Anphina, both of which shifted ground.

Quang Tri Raced three wide without cover. Near the 1400m was steadied after shifting in towards the heels of Zoe's Promise which shifted out away from Magnaspin which was also shifting in.

Hoops (NZ) Eased down shortly after the winning post. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Hoops shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.

Anphina Faltered near the 500m when avoiding the heels of Kings Consort which shifted out.

Race 5 G.H. MUMM MAHOGANY CHALLENGE FINAL - 2500 metres:

Shadow Hawk (NZ) Slow to begin. Checked near the 500m to avoid the heels of Forest Diamond (NZ) after having been taken out by Rock Up (NZ) (B. Egan) which shifted out before then being taken out further by Country's Light (J. Opperman) which shifted out slightly away from Bay Of Kiel. Whilst accepting that Country's Light shifted out slightly and contributed to the incident, the Stewards reprimanded rider Billy Egan for initially shifting out and was notified to exercise far more care in similar circumstances in future.

Rock Up (NZ) Began awkwardly. Rider Billy Egan reported the gelding would derive benefit from today's race. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Whirly Jig Weakened from the 200m and was eased down. Post-race endoscopy of Whirly Jig detected a degree of internal exercise‑induced pulmonary haemorrhage which may have affected the horse's racing performance. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.

Bay Of Kiel Eased down in the straight and finished a distant last. Rider Harry Coffey could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Country's Light Passing the 500m when shifting out slightly then became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by Rock Up (NZ) which shifted in slightly.

Race 6 LEXUS BANJO PATTERSON SERIES FINAL - 2600 metres:

Prior to correct weight, rider Brett Prebble (Monbaher (IRE), 2nd placegetter) viewed the patrol video before deciding to lodge an objection against Mimi's Award (Blaike McDougall, 1st placegetter) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference in the home straight. After considering the evidence, it was established that Monbaher (IRE) was taken out off its course approximately seven horses from the 300m until the 50m. It was the Stewards' view that had this interference not occurred that Monbaher (IRE) would have finished ahead of Mimi's Award and therefore upheld the objection and the placings were amended as follows: Monbaher (IRE), 1st placegetter; Mimi's Award, 2nd placegetter; Horrifying (NZ), 3rd placegetter.

Taramansour (IRE) Change of tactics: more forward. Settled midfield.

Horrifying (NZ) Raced wide without cover until being allowed to stride forward and lead passing the 1600m.

Saunter Boy (FR) Raced three wide without cover from the 1600m.

Maserartie Bay Eased down in the straight and finished a distant last. Rider Jye McNeil reported that the gelding felt short in its action in the straight. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Don't Doubt Dory Rider Carleen Hefel reported the gelding settled further forward than anticipated and in her opinion failed to run out a strong 2600m. She added that the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Mimi's Award Shifted out from the 350m to the 50m.

Monbaher (IRE) Taken out off its course several horses from the 350m to the 50m. Stewards inquired into the reason for rider Brett Prebble making contact with his left hand to the back of rider Blaike McDougall (Mimi's Award) shortly after the winning post. Evidence was taken from Brett Prebble and Blaike McDougall. After viewing the patrol vision and taking into account the circumstances, Stewards notified Brett Prebble that they were satisfied his gesture towards Blaike McDougall had no malice but notified him that he must refrain from making such gestures in similar circumstances in future.

Rider Blaike McDougall (Mimi's Award) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a), the careless riding being that from the 350m to the 50m, he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of Monbaher (IRE), resulting in that gelding being taken out off its course. Blaike McDougall's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 race meetings, dates to be subsequently advised. In assessing penalty, account was taken of his record and that the carelessness was in the mid-range.

Race 7 - FURPHY SANTA ANA LANE SPRINT SERIES FINAL - LISTED - 1200 metres:

William Thomas Slow to begin.

Savatoxl Eased down and finished a distant last. Rider Blaike McDougall reported the gelding may be suffering from a respiratory condition. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Ocean Beyond (NZ) Disappointing. Rider Linda Meech could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Hampered at the start when tightened for room between Serpentine (IRE) which was taken out by Hi Stranger, and Frankie Pinot which shifted in.

Creedence Change of tactics: more forward. Bumped at the start by Mystery Shot which shifted in. Settled worse than midfield.

Edison Change of tactics: to be ridden more conservatively. Settled midfield.

Mystery Shot Change of tactics: intention to be more forward. Settled on pace behind the leading horses.

Winning Partner Slow to begin.

Serpentine (IRE) Raced three wide without cover.

Tuvalu Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to take up the lead near the 1200m.

Sir Davy Held up for from the 400m and then shifted out and made contact with Paul's Regret to gain clear running.

Lunar Flare Steadied near the 250m when disappointed for clear running between Paul's Regret and Edison, both of which shifted ground.

Looks Like Elvis Disappointing. Rider Linda Meech reported the gelding settled further forward than anticipated, however could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Obliged to race wide early before being allowed to stride forward to settle outside the leader approaching the 1000m. Weakened from the 300m. Rider Craig Newitt reported that in his opinion the gelding would be better suited over a shorter distance and ridden further back in the field. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Astern Villa Raced three wide without cover from the 1200m.
