Accountability (IRE) Change of tactics: more forward. Raced handy with cover. Stable representative Joh Taylor was notified of the stable's obligation to notify any change of tactics no later than 30 minutes prior to the advertised start time. Stewards took no further action with respect to the late notification after considering the stable's exemplary record in this area in Victoria and that there had been an administrative misunderstanding within the stable which led to the late notification of the change of tactics on this occasion.

Taramansour (IRE) Began awkwardly. A post‑race veterinary examination at the request of the stable revealed a wound to the off hind leg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.

Reflect The Stars Approaching the 400m was disappointed for running between Taramansour (IRE) and Eureka Street before then shifting back to the inside.

Sunday's Best Slow to begin, before then shifting out and making contact with Turfie, and then being tightened for room between that gelding and Blushing Tycoon which had shifted out.

Audrey Girl Began awkwardly with its head up and was slow to begin.

Blushing Tycoon Began awkwardly. Rider Jamie Mott reported the gelding was disappointing and could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Flash Feeling (NZ) Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with Natural Mystic. Apprentice Matthew Cartwright reported that in his view the colt may have come to the end of its preparation. Stewards confirmed with trainer John Sadler that the colt will now be spelled.

Turfie Hampered at the start when bumped on the hindquarters by Sunday's Best. Lost both hind plates in running.

Natural Mystic Raced keenly through the middle stages after obtaining cover behind Hard Questions (NZ) passing the 1300m.
