Exonumia Hampered at the start when bumped by English Riviera.

Waterworld Lay out under pressure from the 400 metres.

Jamarra Lay in under pressure from the 300 metres, then shifted back to the inside passing the 100 metres to obtain running to the inside of Maximillius.

Race 2 FURPHY REFRESHING ALE TROPHY - 1410 metres:

Philadelphia Storm Slow to begin. Disappointing. Rider Zac Spain reported the gelding raced greenly and in his opinion, was not suited by the slow tempo of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Capo Strada Slow to begin. Weakened from the 300 metres. Rider Jye McNeil reported the colt had to work hard in the early stages, however he was disappointed in the manner in which Capo Strada finished the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame near hind. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

Attractable Passing the 1000 metres was steadied to avoid the heels of Decent Raine (app Matthew Cartwright), which was shifting in away from Capo Strada. M Cartwright was severely reprimanded and notified to exercise more care. Rider Blaike McDougall advised that he had been given no specific instructions and after beginning only fairly was of the opinion that he would have been able to maintain his position one out, one back. He added that he settled further back than preferred after Decent Raine had been crossed by Capo Strada to settle outside the leader near the 800 metres.

Race 3 CALIFORNIA MEMORY LIVING LEGENDS PLATE - 1720 metres:

Pancho Raced keenly in the early stages. Lay in under pressure from the 300 metres. Rider Damien Oliver could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Mask Of Time (IRE) Raced three wide without cover.

Somerset Maugham (IRE) Held up for clear running from the 500 metres until shifting out across heels passing the 300 metres. Rider Jamie Kah reported she settled further back than intended after not beginning well and then being obliged to settle behind other runners.

Secretly Awesome Steadied when tightened for room near the 250 metres by Pancho, which lay in before being straightened. Apprentice Josh Richards reported, in his opinion, the gelding was not suited by the step up in class. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Race 4 TWILIGHT PAYMENT LIVING LEGENDS PLATE - 2000 metres:

Elzamee Bounded at the start and was slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 500 metres until approaching the 200 metres. Scarlet Tufty (FR) Began awkwardly. Apprentice Teo Nugent reported, in his opinion, the gelding may be better suited over more ground.

Not To Be Mist Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with Justacanta. When questioned, rider Fred Kersley explained he was instructed to ride the gelding back in the field, avoid racing between runners and make his run on the outside. He stated that when restraining in the early stages to follow the instructions, he ended up further back than intended due to the quick tempo of the leading horses. Fred Kersley added that he was then reluctant to improve his position as it would have necessitated him shifting to a three wide position without cover and he was of the view that Dadoozdart and Justacanta would take him into the race sooner than they did. He further stated that he began riding Not To Be Mist along approaching the 600 metres and the gelding was unable to make any ground until well into the straight. Stewards interviewed stable representative Toby Lake, who confirmed the instructions and added that due to the strong tempo in the early and middle stages Not To Be Mist settled further back than intended. Stewards notified Fred Kersley that, whilst it was understood that he was riding to instructions, he had an opportunity to go forward and settled outside Justacanta passing the 800 metres, which in their view he should have done. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Justacanta (NZ) Hung in from the 400 metres placing apprentice Alana Kelly in some difficulty when riding her mount out.

Here To Shock When questioned, rider Liam Riordan stated that he had been given no specific instructions, however, after being positive out of the gates he eventually settled outside the leader, which was closer than intended.

Rider Damien Oliver reported after failing to jump cleanly and also after being hampered near the 1200 metres, the mare settled further back than intended. He added when placed under pressure in the straight his mount failed to respond and felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Nicolini Vito Near the 1300 metres hampered when taken out off its course by Legionnaire, which in turn was being taken out by Celestial Sol, which shifted out abruptly before being straightened. Held up for clear running from the 500 metres until having to shift out to avoid heels passing the 200 metres. When questioned, rider Jamie Mott stated that in hindsight he should have settled behind Laundy and one off the rail passing the 1200 metres rather than shifting into a rails position. He also advised that upon straightening he was unable to shift wider for clear running due to racing to the inside of the heels of horses to his outside and shortly after this, having to steady to avoid the heels of Dogmatic, which shifted in

Redwood Shadow (NZ) Lay out under pressure in the straight.

Moktaffy Eased down in the straight, finished a distant last. Rider Damien Thornton reported the gelding felt amiss in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Laundy - Rider Jamie Kah reported from the wide gate she elected to restrain after beginning only fairly and as a result settled further back than intended. She added in hindsight, the gelding was not suited to being ridden so far back.
