Race 1 VERY SPECIAL KIDS PIN AND WIN PLATE - 2500 metres:

Schabau (GER) Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider William Pike reported his mount raced keenly which was detrimental to its performance.

Roland Garros Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Young Rascal (FR) Raced three wide without cover in the early stages. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

Benall Raced three wide without cover.

More Than Ever (NZ) When weakening near the 200m raced in restricted room to the inside of Schabau (GER) which shifted in.

Double You Tee Clipped the heels of Young Rascal (FR) near the 350m after being disappointed for a run between that gelding and Roland Garros which was racing to his inside and weakening. Stewards severely reprimanded rider Billy Egan and notified him to exercise far more care in similar circumstances. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

 

Race 2 ANTLER LUGGAGE EXFORD PLATE LISTED - 1400 metres:

Khoekhoe Underwent a veterinary examination after being fractious in the barriers and was passed fit to race. Raced three wide without cover.

Crown Mint Slow to begin.

Immortal Love Began awkwardly. Weakened from the 200m. Rider Craig Newitt reported that in his opinion there was something amiss with the gelding internally. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Johnny Get Angry (NZ) Began awkwardly.

National Choice Rider Michael Dee could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

 

Race 3 FURPHY LET'S ELOPE STAKES GROUP 2 - 1400 metres:

Spanish Reef Began awkwardly

Fidelia Began awkwardly and knuckled. Trainer Robbie Griffiths informed Stewards that a subsequent veterinary examination at his stables revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

Savatiano Led. Weakened from the 200m. Rider Mark Zahra could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Shrouded In Mist Raced three wide without cover.

Lady Loft Near the 200m was bumped and became unbalanced when tightened for room between Savatiano which shifted out and Southbank which shifted in away from Pretty Brazen.

Pretty Brazen Lost the off hind plate during the race.

My Gold Bracelet (NZ) Rider Damien Oliver reported the mare would be better suited on tracks with more give. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

 

Race 4 BOBBIE LEWIS QUALITY GROUP 2 - 1200 metres:

Galaxy Raider Slow to begin.

Rock Prophet Laid in under pressure from the 300m.

Bold Star A post‑race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

 

Race 5 WINNING EDGE PRESENTATIONS HANDICAP - 1700 metres:

Shot of Irish Underwent a veterinary examination after being fractious in the barrier and was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.17 pm. Trainer Richard Laming was notified Shot of Irish must perform to the satisfaction of Stewards in a jump‑out before racing again. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

Harrison (GB) Underwent a veterinary examination after being fractious in the barrier and was passed fit to race. Began awkwardly and as a result rider Luke Currie became unbalanced.

Prince Ziggy Slow to begin.

Good Idea Raced three wide without cover until being allowed to stride forward and sit outside the leader near the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Aktau (GB) Raced three wide in the middle stages. Rider Jye McNeil reported the gelding would derive benefit from today's race. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

Rivet Delight (IRE) Rider Ben Melham reported that in his opinion there was something amiss with the gelding. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Toffee Tongue (NZ) A post‑race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow recovery.

 

Race 6 THE SOFITEL - LISTED - 1400 metres:

Windstorm Change of tactics: more forward. Settled midfield.

Travimyfriend (NZ) The tongue tie was reapplied at the barriers. Began awkwardly.

Kiwia Slow to begin.

Yulong January Began awkwardly. Rider Jye McNeil could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Adelaide Ace (NZ) From the wide barrier was restrained and settled back with cover. Became unbalanced near the 800m after shifting in and brushing Bumper Blast (NZ).

Tshahitsi In the early stages got its head up when racing ungenerously. Raced three wide without cover in the middle stages. Rider Ben Melham reported that in his opinion there was something amiss with the gelding. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Bumper Blast (NZ) Bumped and became unbalanced near the 800m due to Adelaide Ace (NZ) shifting in.

Inverloch (IRE) Held up for clear running from the 500m until near the 250m.

 

Race 7 PFD FOOD SERVICES MAKYBE DIVA STAKES GROUP 1 - 1600 metres:

Gatting Change of tactics: more forward. Hampered at the start by Fierce Impact (JPN) which jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Went amiss approaching the 1200m and as a result veered out abruptly and severely hampered Miami Bound (NZ), Vow and Declare and Kings Will Dream (IRE). Gatting sustained a fractured nearside shoulder and was humanely euthanised. This incident will be referred to the Equine Welfare and Veterinary Department. The gelding was transported to Werribee Veterinary Hospital for an autopsy.

Russian Camelot (IRE) Underwent a veterinary examination after being fractious in the barriers and was passed fit to race. Raced four wide without cover.

Gailo Chop (FR) Began awkwardly.

Fierce Impact (JPN) Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.

Quick Thinker Raced three wide without cover.

Vow and Declare Severely hampered approaching the 1200m when Gatting veered out abruptly.

Kings Will Dream (IRE) Severely hampered approaching the 1200m when Gatting veered out abruptly.

Miami Bound (NZ) Severely hampered approaching the 1200m when Gatting veered out abruptly. Eased down in the straight. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Perfect Jewel Rider William Pike reported the mare was not suited by the slow tempo. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 8 SEPPELT DANEHILL STAKES GROUP 2 - 1200 metres:

Ranting (NZ) Slow to begin.

On The Lead Raced keenly in the early stages.

Doubtland Raced keenly in the early stages.

Annavisto (NZ) Laid in under pressure near the 300m.

Amish Boy Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Tydeus A post‑race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame in the off foreleg. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

Wisdom of Water Rider Mark Zahra could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
