Race 1 BIANCA NORTH HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Tanker Just prior to the gates opening, the gelding lunged forward and got his mouth caught in the left-hand starting gate, resulting in the gate not opening properly as the start was effected. Tanker whilst still caught in the gate then pulled the gate closed, and as a result was unable to begin with the field. After viewing the patrol video and taking evidence from rider John Allen and the starter, Stewards deemed Tanker was denied a fair start and was therefore declared a non-runner. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

Win Bets - Embolism - 18 cents

Place Bets (For Winner) - 15 cents

Place Bets (For 2nd) Miss Inbetween - 21 cents

All monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.

Place Bets (For Winner) - 14 cents

Place Bets (For 2nd) - Excess Funds - 19 cents

Affair To Remember Slow to begin. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
