Race 1 MAGIC MILLIONS DEBUTANT STAKES LISTED - 1000 metres:

Extreme Warrior Slow to begin.

Hardware Lane Slow to begin. When making ground had to be checked off the heels of Zanzibar Gem near the 300m.

Shalam Over-raced in the early and middle stages. When giving ground was steadied to avoid the heels of Darceandermill near the 250m. Eased down over the concluding stages. Rider Patrick Moloney reported the filly raced greenly throughout and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be shinsore bilaterally. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again. Trainer John Moloney confirmed that the filly would be spelled.

Darceandhermill Raced four wide without cover. Weakened from the 200m. Rider Jamie Kah reported the colt raced greenly throughout. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

Beach Lap Raced three wide without cover. Weakened from the 200m. Rider Daniel Moor reported the filly raced greenly throughout. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Anamoe Held up from the 400m before shifting out to gain clear running passing the 200m.

Naples Held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 300m.

Zanzibar Gem Near the 300 was disappointed for a run between Beach Lap and Shalam.

Red Rocketship Hung out in the home straight.

 

Race 2 THE THOROUGHBRED CLUB STAKES GROUP 3 - 1200 metres:

Cave Hill Slow to begin. Near the 700m had to be steadied off the heels of Highly Discreet.

Letzbeglam Began awkwardly and then shifted out abruptly and hampered Tarcoola Diva, Highly Discreet and Muntaseera.

Muntaseera Hampered at the start. Rider Jye McNeil advised that he elected to settle behind Swats That passing the 900m rather than hold his position to its inside as he felt that Swats That would take him into the race and he did not want to be held up behind Capriccio and to the inside of Swats That.

Tarcoola Diva Hampered at the start.

Highly Discreet Hampered at the start. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

Capriccio In the straight hung in.

 

Race 3 THE BIG SCREEN COMPANY WEEKEND HUSSLER LISTED - 1400 metres:

Runson Post‑race endoscopy of Runson detected a degree of internal exercise‑induced pulmonary haemorrhage which may have affected the horse's racing performance. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

Cuba Rider Jamie Kah reported with the quick early tempo her mount was unable to obtain the lead and in her opinion racing with cover was detrimental to its chances. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

 

Race 4 - KENO NORTHWOOD PLUME STAKES GROUP 3 - 1200 metres:

Algadon Miss Underwent a veterinary examination after being fractious in the barriers and was passed fit to race. Raced three wide without cover.

My Pendant (NZ) Slow to begin.

Broadwayandfourth Slow to begin. Rider Mark Zahra was reminded of his obligation to ride all mounts out to the end of the race.

Exhilarates Raced four wide without cover. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Too Good Too Hard Approaching the 400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of In Good Time.

Lyre Held up for a short distance approaching the 100m.

In Good Time Rider Michael Rodd reported the mare resented racing inside other runners and when placed under pressure felt uncomfortable in its action. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

 

Race 5 McCAFE SCHILLACI STAKES GROUP 2 - 1100 metres:

Dirty Work Began awkwardly.

Diamond Effort Raced three wide without cover.

Order of Command Rider Damien Oliver reported the gelding may be better suited to handicap events. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

 

Race 6 NEDS STAKES GROUP 1 - 2000 metres:

Russian Camelot (IRE) Rider Damien Oliver reported the horse raced a little keen and was beaten on his merits. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Race 7 SCHWEPPES THOUSAND GUINEAS GROUP 1 - 1600 metres:

Hungry Heart Slow to begin. Rider Hugh Bowman reported that after being slow to begin he then encouraged the filly to find a prominent position, and as a result of this the filly then over‑raced and in his view this affected its performance today. Rider Hugh Bowman was fined $400 for breaching the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he used his whip in consecutive strides on two occasions near the 350m. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

Agreeable Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped Ecumenical. Tightened for room between Instant Celebrity and Personal which shifted out slightly near the 350m.

Love Sensation Raced three wide without cover.

Ecumenical Raced four wide without cover.

Night Raid Near the 400m brushed on the hindquarters by Odeum which had shifted to the outside of Vangelic to obtain clear running. Laid out rounding the home turn. Weakened from the 250m. Rider Mark Zahra reported the filly would be better suited over distances shorter than today's event. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

Thermosphere Rider Damian Lane could offer no explanation for the performance. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

 

Race 8 NEDS CAULFIELD GUINEAS GROUP 1 - 1600 metres:

Tagaloa Eased down out of the race passing the 400m. Rider Craig Williams reported the colt felt amiss in its action. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

King's Legacy On jumping away shifted out and bumped Mamaragan. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed a throat abnormality. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

Mamaragan Rider Michael Rodd reported the colt was under pressure a long way out and in his opinion failed to run out the 1600 metres of today's race.

Lunar Fox Got its head up when being restrained near the 1100m.

Cambourne Rider Mark Zahra reported the colt may have come to the end of its preparation. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.

National Choice Slow to begin and then tightened for room by Grandslam which shifted in on jumping away. Got its head up in the early and middle stages.

Hugh Bowman (King's Legacy) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a), the careless riding being that near the 1300 metres, he permitted his mount to shift in to the inside of Cambourne when insufficiently clear of Mo'Unga (NZ), thereby tightening that colt in onto National Choice which resulted in Mo'Unga (NZ) having to check and lose its rightful running. Hugh Bowman had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence midnight 17 October 2020 to expire midnight 26 October 2020, a total of 10 race meetings (2 metropolitan, 8 provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea, riding record, that the carelessness was in the mid‑range and it was a Group 1 race.

 

Race 9 LEXUS TOORAK HANDICAP GROUP 1 - 1600 metres:

Superstorm Slow to begin, then was bumped by So Si Bon shifted out after jumping away.

Age of Chivalry (NZ) Raced three wide without cover.

Harlech (NZ) Got its head up when being restrained approaching the 1200m to avoid the heels of Sikandarabad (IRE) which shifted in. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced three wide without cover from the 900m.

Cascadian (GB) Raced four wide without cover from the 750m.

I Am Superman (IRE) Rider Mark Zahra reported the horse got further back than intended and failed to run on when placed under pressure. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Junipal Steadied near the 400m when held up for clear running. Rider John Allen reported the gelding had difficulty obtaining clear running which was detrimental to its chances. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Sircconi Weakened from the 300m. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both forelegs. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

 

Race 10 NEDS HERBERT POWER HANDICAP GROUP 2 - 2400 metres:

Zebrowski (NZ) Lost a plate on the way to the barriers and was replated.

The Chosen One (NZ) Raced three wide without cover. Rider Michael Dee reported the gelding raced wide throughout which was detrimental to its chances. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

Chapada Bumped passing the 800m after having shifted out slightly before Zebrowski (NZ) then shifted in slightly.

Orderofthegarter (IRE) Rider Damien Oliver reported that in his view the gelding did not run out the 2400 metres of today's race. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Stewards will follow up with the stable.
