Warwick Farm meeting to start later to avoid heat

Racing NSW advises that following a further review of the weather forecast for Warwick Farm on Australia Day, Tuesday, the starting times for the race meeting at Warwick have been amended as below to allow the majority of the meeting to be conducted in more favourable weather conditions. Level 2 of the Racing NSW Hot Weather Policy remains in force for the meeting.

Race 1 – 3:15pm

Race 2 – 3:50pm

Race 3 – 4:25pm

Race 4 – 5:00pm

Race 5 – 5:35pm

Race 6 – 6:10pm

Race 7 – 6:45pm

Level 1 Hot Weather Policy invoked at Goulburn (Monday) & Wagga (Tuesday)

With temperatures forecast to reach 37 degrees at Goulburn on Monday (25th January 2021), Level 1 of the Hot Weather Policy will be invoked.

The same applies to Wagga's meeting on Tuesday with a forecast of 37 degrees.

As a result, pre-race parades will be shortened on the day.

Trainers are reminded that runners must be on-course at least 90 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of their respective races, as this allows sufficient time to cool the horse before the race.

It is particularly important for those horses traveling significant distances to race meetings, allowing them time to be actively cooled, if necessary, prior to racing.
