Scans looking positive for NSW apprentice Elissa Meredith

Earlier report - NSW apprentice jockey Elissa Meredith, involved in a fall at Gunnedah on Monday, is reported by Racing NSW to be comfortable and in a stable condition at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

The medical staff at assessing her condition and may undertake further scans. On Monday scans revealed two contusions on her brain, however, with no swelling or bleeds and she has no other injuries.

Meredith was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital after she was thrown over her mount Starlink’s neck in Race 5 after the filly stumbled and fell 200m after the start of the 1600m race.
