Billy Egan was also fined $600. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account his guilty plea, totality of whip strikes (13), his record and the fact he ran 2nd.

Saint Eustace (NZ) Near the 1600m commenced to over-race and was allowed to stride to settle behind the leaders near the 1000m. Near the 400m, apprentice Will Price dropped his whip.
