RACE 1: Elite Sand & Soil Handicap 1200m:
King Of Sparta – Near the 900m King Of Sparta, which was racing fiercely, was
steadied when momentarily crowded by Military Expert (T Berry) which shifted in
before being corrected. T Berry was advised to exercise more care. King Of Sparta
continued to race fiercely and refused to settle throughout the middle stages of the
event, and for some distance approaching the 600m, was checked from the heels of
Military Expert.
Picarones – From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 200m bumped with King Of Sparta and became momentarily
unbalanced.
Coastwatch – Near the 700m was steadied when placed closed to the heels of King
Of Sparta, when that runner shifted in. Coastwatch was then obliged to race wide
and without cover from this stage of the event and was consequently allowed to
stride forward by its rider.
Military Expert – Began awkwardly. Rider T Berry stated he was obliged to make
some use of the colt to cross and race outside the lead in the early stages. He stated
that Military Expert was advantaged by being able to race on pace in a moderately
run event, but in his opinion, was slightly disappointing in the manner in which it
finished its race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Silent Impact – When improving into a narrow run between Sir Crackle and Military
Expert near the 300m, made contact with both runners and as a consequence
became momentarily unbalanced.
Lion King – Near the 700m was steadied when briefly crowded by Turnstar.
Turnstar – Throughout the early and middle stages of the event overraced. Near the
700m, Turnstar was checked to avoid the heels of King Of Sparta (R Bayliss) which
shifted in abruptly whilst racing ungenerously. R Bayliss was reprimanded and
advised he must provide more clearance when shifting ground. In assessing penalty,
Stewards found the racing manners of King Of Sparta and the pace steadying at that
point of the event, had contributed to the interference. Near the 500m Turnstar,
which continued to race keenly, had to be steadied from the heels of King Of Sparta.
Vianello – From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Sir Crackle – Began awkwardly and made contact with Silent Impact, which became
slightly unbalanced. Rider J Innes felt the gelding was able to control the pace of the
event at a moderate speed however, was disappointing in its failure to finish the race
off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 2: TAB Highway Class 3 Plate 1500m:
Bold And Wild – Lost its near fore plate in running.
Dream Runner – In the straight hung in and proved somewhat difficult to ride out.
Tags – After beginning only fairly, was then shifted behind runners in the early
stages.
Laughing Or Crying – After being slow to begin, was then hampered when
tightened for room between Zoo Station and Nuremburg Castle, which shifted in.
Rider J Innes reported that his mount hung in throughout the event. In the straight
was reluctant to be shifted to the outside of runners, and as a consequence, could
not be fully ridden out as rider J Innes was placed at a disadvantage. Trainer R
Butler was advised that a warning will be placed on the geldings record.
Reach Beyond – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
Lord Avatar – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Reach Beyond. From the
400m to the 200m was held up for clear running.

early stages, raced ungenerously. For a short distance near the 300m had difficulty
obtaining clear running.

From the 400m until the 150m was held up for clear running.

but was under pressure a long way from the finish and raced in a disappointing
manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

stages.
So Say You – From the 350m to the 200m was held up for clear running.
Nuremburg Castle – Shortly after the start, shifted in and made contact with
Laughing Or Crying. Held up for clear running behind the weakening Bondi Blue
between the 400m and the 200m. Rider T Berry reported that the gelding made an
abnormal respiratory noise over the concluding stages of the race and when pulling
up. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities.
Bearing in mind the comments of T Berry, trainer M Dale was advised that a
veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination will be
required prior to Nuremburg Castle being permitted to race or trial again.
RACE 3: Bowermans Commercial Furniture Handicap 1500m:
Black Bolt – Over the concluding stages was positioned close to the heels of
Bazooka when that runner shifted in and as a result, was not ridden out to the finish.
J Parr, rider of Bazooka, was advised to exercise more care.
Alvin The Bold – Jumped awkwardly. Rider K McEvoy advised that after travelling
outside the lead, the gelding hung in in the straight behind Major Artie and proved
difficult to ride out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Oakfield Arrow – Rider T Berry stated that the filly travelled comfortably in an onpace position, but in the straight did not respond to his riding. He added on pulling up
it was feeling the effects of todays performance. A post-race veterinary examination
revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Ms K Buchanan advised the filly will now be
spelled.
Adamas Prince – From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early
stages. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Just Tozza – Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between Yesmeena
and Bazooka, both of which shifted ground. Just Tozza was then shifted behind
runners in the early stages from its wide barrier.
Yesmeena – Slow to begin and shortly after, shifted in and made contact with Just
Tozza. Yesmeena was then shifted behind runners in the early stages from its wide
barrier.
Just A Brother – As K O Hara was indisposed due to injury, Stewards permitted J
Innes to replace her as the rider of the gelding and permission was granted for him
to ride Just A Brother one kilogram over its allotted weight of 52kgs.
RACE 4: Hyland Race Colours July Sprint 1100m:
Trumbull – Began awkwardly and shortly after made contact with Chat. Rider T
Berry reported that Trumbull settled towards the rear of the field where it was
obliged to race wide and without cover. He added, in the straight when placed under
pressure, the gelding did not respond to his efforts and when he had some concern
with its action, he eased it down over the final 150m. A post-race veterinary
examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mrs K Waugh advised that Trumbull
pleased her leading into today's race and could not provide any explanation for the
disappointing performance. Mrs Waugh advised she would now have Trumbull
subject to a full veterinary inspection including an endoscopic examination, the
results of which she will report to the Stewards. Mrs Waugh was advised Trumbull
will be required to barrier trial prior to its next race start.
Gaulois – Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with Barbaric.
All Time Legend – Began awkwardly and made contact with Barbaric.
Chat – Slow to begin and shortly after made contact with Trumbull. Chat was then
shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Barbaric – Shortly after the start was bumped when tightened between All Time
Legend and Gaulois, both of which shifted ground.
RACE 5: Schweppes Handicap 2400m:
Harpo Marx – Slow to begin. App. T Sherry, rider of the 5th placegetter Harpo Marx
pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) for failing to ride the gelding out to the
end of the race. App. Sherry's permit to ride in races was suspended for a period to
commence on Sunday 1 August 2021 and to expire on Saturday 7 August 2021, on
which day he may ride.

stages.
Kaapfever – Shortly after the start made contact with Poulton Le Sands. Near the
300m was hampered when tightened between Commander Bell and No
Compromise, which shifted in slightly.
Montabot – Jumped awkwardly. Rider B Avdulla stated that with the slow pace set
throughout the middle stages of the event, he elected to commence a forward move
on the gelding from the 1000m as Montabot had raced in a one pace manner at its
previous starts, which he had identified watching its overseas performances and also
speaking with trainer M Smith. He said after improving to the lead near the 900m,
Montabot did not fully stretch out and in his view, was looking for a surface with
more give in it. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Commander Bell – Near the 300m was momentarily tightened between Kaapfever
and Karmazone.
Sound Of Cannons – When commencing to improve into a narrow run between
Arabolini and Spencer near the 150m, made contact with both runners when
Spencer shifted out slightly. In this incident, both Arabolini and Sound Of Cannons
became momentarily unbalanced.
Poulton Le Sands – From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early
stages. Near the 1900m shifted in towards the heels of Harpo Marx and was
steadied. In the middle stages raced keenly. Rider L Day reported the gelding was
inclined to hang out from the 1000m.
Arabolini – Soon after straightening was shifted to the outside of Montabot and
Spencer to secure clear running.
RACE 6: City Tattersalls Club Handicap 1200m:
Maddi Rocks – Began awkwardly and shortly after made contact with the
hindquarters of Hyannis Port. Maddi Rocks then was shifted behind runners in the
early stages from its wide barrier. App T Sherry reported that the only explanation he
could offer for the performance today, was that the mare appreciates a firmer surface
then it was afforded today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no
abnormalities.
Misteed – Rider J Parr reported the mare did not travel well at any stage of the
event and could offer no excuse for today's disappointing performance. A post-race
veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Hasstobegood – From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early
stages.

and away from Starla. Over the final 50m could not be fully tested when held up on

was affected and as a consequence lost ground. Shortly after the start was
inconvenienced when briefly tightened between Starla and Arousal, which shifted in
slightly. Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 800m was steadied from the
heels of Dame Kiri. Stable representative C Duckworth reported that the mare had
blood present in one nostril subsequent to the race. C Duckworth was advised
Lucicello will be required to barrier trial or gallop 1000m in the presence of a
Steward prior to its next race start.

Celtic Love – When questioned regarding the mare leading, app E Hennessy stated
whilst the intention was to be more forward than last start, when caught wide in the
early stages she elected to stride froward and lead, rather than having to cover
additional ground. She stated as a result, Celtic Love raced more forward than what
had been the intention.
