Tips and Race Preview for the 2019 George Main Stakes at Randwick on Saturday are giving another chance in the G1s to the punter’s hope. Avilius will be getting primed now and he is at $3.40.
Doesn't appear a lot of depth to this year's Group 1 George Main Stakes with the leading market hopes tipped to fight out the finish. Speed looks genuine.
AVILIUS (2) has been solid enough in both runs back this time in and should be right at his peak racing third up. Sure to relish the conditions on offer and suspect this has always been the first Grand Final. McEvoy sticks and with a fair track on offer, he should prove very hard to beat.
HAPPY CLAPPER (1) was there to win first up and while unable to, he still did enough and you just have to respect his record at this C&D. It's first class! VERRY ELLEEGANT (11) never got into it first up, but gets conditions to suit here and expecting her to improve sharply. DREAMFORCE (3) went like a bomb fresh, next best.
2019 GEORGE MAIN STAKES – SELECTIONS
1st – 2 Avilius
2nd – 1 Happy Clapper
3rd – 11 Verry Elleegant
4th – 3 Dreamforce
2019 The Shorts: Tips And Race Preview
Hoping our main tip ends up running as per the Tips and Race Preview for the 2019 The Shorts, Pierata doesn't want it a very heavy surface but is $4.60.
Easily the main highlight of the afternoon with this year's Group 2 The Shorts. Redzel should kick up from the inside with Jonker, Sunlight and Classique Legend not too far away.
PIERATA (3) really impressed first up when closing very well over an unsuitable trip. Sure to appreciate the step up in trip and his first up effort suggests he is back better than ever. If that's the case he should take plenty of beating on the heavy track.
CLASSIQUE LEGEND (6) was very impressive in his maiden preparation, though he's certainly been thrown to the wolves here. Nowhere to hide, but suspect he measures right up. REDZEL (2) held them all off first up and imagine he'll get a similar run here from the rails draw. How do you knock him? OSBORNE BULLS (4) should be very strong late.
2019 THE SHORTS – SELECTIONS
1st – 3 Pierata
2nd – 6 Classique Legend
3rd – 2 Redzel
4th – 4 Osborne Bulls
2019 Tea Rose Stakes: Tips And Race Preview
Happy to stay on the top sprinting filly in the Tips and Race Preview for the 2019 Tea Rose Stakes, Libertini just needs to run it out to be the one and she is at $1.85.
Easily one of the main highlights of the afternoon with this year's Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes. Expect a solid tempo over the 1400m journey.
LIBERTINI (1) was dynamite fresh before coming off that performance last start when just doing enough to gun down Villami. Gets out beyond 1200m for the first time and gets on to a heavy track for the first time. Her mum loved it and the fact she lines up suggests they are confident she will handle it. All class and should prove hard to beat.
FUNSTAR (5) couldn't reel in Yao Dash first up, but her performance still held plenty of merit and she should improve sharply with that run under the belt. Already a heavy track winner and looms as a major threat.
FLIT (4) was very good behind Libertini first up and like the fact she comes here fresh (28 days). Should relish the step up in trip and has to be respected. ANAHEED (2) eats the mud and appears the next in line.
2019 TEA ROSE STAKES – SELECTIONS
1st – 1 Libertini
2nd – 5 Funstar
3rd – 4 Flit
4th – 2 Anaheed
2019 Kingston Town Stakes: Tips And Race Preview
Following some Perth form into the Tips and Race Preview for the 2019 Kingston Town Stakes, Come Play With Me was well liked at Rosehill and runs as a $3.70 fav.
Absolute cracker with a host of leading chances in this year's Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes. In the capacity field expect a solid tempo.
COME PLAY WITH ME (11) was very good in his debut for the Chris Waller stable, sticking on well to finish second behind Wu Gok. Form has already been franked and hard to ignore his dominant display over Gatting two back. Not sure he loves the heavy, but should appreciate the step up in trip. JMac sticks and he should prove hard to beat.
BIG DUKE (10) creates plenty of interest fresh with Nash booked. Hasn't won in over 700 days, but gets conditions to suit and certainly races well at Randwick. FINCHE (4) did enough first up and will no doubt relish the step up in trip. McEvoy a key booking and he looms as a major threat. GIRL TUESDAY (16) is simply airborne this preparation, next best.
2019 KINGSTON TOWN STAKES – SELECTIONS
1st – 11 Come Play With Me
2nd – 10 Big Duke
3rd – 4 Finche
4th – 16 Girl Tuesday
2019 Bill Ritchie Handicap: Tips And Race Preview
Taking some overseas form in the Tips and Race Preview for the 2019 Bill Ritchie Handicap, Cascadian was good first up and he is at $4.
Good competitive Bill Ritchie Handicap with a few pushing for a berth in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap. Speed looks solid enough.
CASCADIAN (7) really caught the eye late first up when working home strongly to finish a close fifth behind Deprive. Open to sharp improvement off the back of that and like the fact he has been kept fresh (28 days). Sure to appreciate the step up in trip and has drawn to settle a lot closer. Needs to win to get into the Epsom, so suspect he'll be fairly close to his top.
KOLDING (5) was the big flashing light run first up when he had no luck at a vital stage. Another open to good improvement and looms as a major threat. AVANTAGE (3) was solid enough first up and the booking of JMac is a decent push. Talented mare and rates highly on best form. STAR OF THE SEAS (6) should relish the conditions, next best.
2019 BILL RITCHIE HANDICAP – SELECTIONS
1st – 7 Cascadian
2nd – 5 Kolding
3rd – 3 Avantage
4th – 6 Star Of The Seas
