Kranji's Saturday meeting preview

Meeting Preview, selections, comments and odds, courtesy Larry Foley, kranjiracing.com.

As a rule, jockeys don’t like to see other jockeys riding ‘their’ mounts – especially the very good ones.

But these are strange times we live in, so you would imagine Michael Rodd won’t mind too much when Vlad Duric jumps on INFERNO for the first time at the races on Saturday.

The boom 4YO has been ridden exclusively by Rodd at his five career starts and while the affable Aussie hoop had other things on his mind when making the move back home during the Covid-19 outbreak, losing the INFERNO ride would have been considered.

A Group winner as a two and three-year-old, INFERNO only tasted defeat at his most recent outing and you could make excuses for finding one better on that occasion.

Duric would be licking his lips at the thought of jumping on INFERNO at the races (race 7) and you would imagine he will have the leaders in his sights when things get serious and anything bar a win would be a disappointment.

In saying that, it is by no means a one-horse affair with a newcomer from Argentina in SENOR DON likely to have admirers with Group winning form to his name and the likes of SIAM ROYAL ORCHID and NATIONALITY are in winning form.

Elsewhere on the card, BE YOU has impressed at the trials and looks extremely hard to beat at his debut in race 2, while a newcomer from Australia in TRADING POST can win at his Kranji debut on trial and race form in race 3.

Best Bets: (BE YOU race 2, win), (INFERNO race 7, win), and (DINGHU MOUNTAIN race 14, value).

Bankers for Jackpots: Race 11 (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12), race 12 (8), race 13 (5 and 8), race 14 (3, 6 and 7).

Race 1

Selections; 8 HWASONG - 10 MIDDLE KINGDOM - 7 SUN ACE - 2 BROADWAY SUCCESS
Not too many races with as many winning hopes as this one, which makes it extremely tough for punters early. Hopefully the tote will be a good guide on the day but as it stands it may pay to follow the top jock - Vlad Duric - on the S Gray-trained HWASONG. Yes, the 5YO is a maiden, but he had excuses in Class 5 last start (lame), has trialled well recently and more importantly gets blinkers. Gray also saddles RUNMINDERBINDERRUN and ACROBAT and both have claims at value. MIDDLE KINGDOM will win in Class 5 sooner than later and while a tad disappointing last start, 1400m first-up suits and he must be respected. SUN ACE placed last start and will get the favours from gate 2, while JUPITER DRAGON and STORM TO WIN also come off last start placings so have to be considered. Blanket over most others with BROADWAY SUCCESS a good value option down in grade. Betting Strategy - BROADWAY SUCCESS each-way.
1 ACROBAT ** Resuming. Form reads badly and has had issues but drops to Class 5 off the back of a solid trial and only win was this trip and track. 33
2 BROADWAY SUCCESS *** Excuses and ran on OK late last start so can improve down in grade over suitable trip. Goes close. 12
3 CARNELIAN * Needs longer and Poly. 33
4 JUPITER DRAGON *** Resuming. Ran on well in similar affair last start and expect much the same. 12
5 LITTLE MASTER *** Resuming. Stood flat-footed last start and never involved. Always some hope in races like this so keep safe with blinkers off. 20
6 STORM TO WIN *** Resuming after placing in similar affair last start. Gate 1 and claim helps. Can win. 8.00
7 SUN ACE *** Resuming. Just missed when dropping to this Company last start and a big chance here. 3.00
8 HWASONG *** Resuming. Maiden who pulled up lame last start when supported in Class 5. Gets blinkers and can win on the back of some good trials. 6.00
9 LIM'S PRIDE ** Will appreciate being back in Class and form in this company good enough to follow with winkers added. 8.00
10 MIDDLE KINGDOM *** Resuming. Slightly disappointing last start when dropping to this grade but will win in Class 5 and 1400m suits first up with winkers off. 8.00
11 RUNMINDERBINDERRUN *** Resuming. Was due last campaign and worth following with handy 3kg claim. Value. 12
12 ABSOLUTE MIRACLE *** No rush early last start when dropping to Class 5 and another that is worth following at odds. 20
13 RED RIDING WOOD ** May be better on the Poly but ran on well last start so keep safe. 20
14 TSURIAN ** Resuming. Will appreciate being back on the turf and worth thought in exotics at odds. 20

Race 2

Selections; 5 BE YOU - 11 TIGER ROAR - 7 IRONPRINCE - 6 GOLDEN ONE
While we will be having a good look on the day for any stable support on the tote, BE YOU looks the standout in this Restricted Maiden and is the one the others have to beat. The NZ-bred 3YO has impressed at his trials and his effortless win at his most recent trial suggests he is primed for a winning debut with gate 2 a bonus. The dangers on exposed trial form include TIGER ROAR for Mike Clements, while IRON PRINCE and GOLDEN ONE have also done enough at the hit-outs to consider on debut. Market best guide on the rest, although RELENTLESS has looked professional at the trials with DAY APPROACH, TWELTH NIGHT, SESON and JUNIPER SPIRIT all worth thought in exotics. Betting Strategy - BE YOU strong win.
1 DAY APPROACH ** UK-bred 3YO colt who has shown enough at the trails to consider on debut with handy 2kg claim. 12
2 LEGGENDA * Shown little at the races and have to take on trust with blinkers off. 33
3 TWELFTH NIGHT ** Resuming after running on very well to place last start over the mile. Keep safe but may need longer. 12
4 SESON ** NZ-bred 3YO who put in a solid effort at his most recent trial and could add value to exotics on debut. 20
5 BE YOU *** NZ-bred 3YO who has impressed at his trials including a big recent win. Hard to beat. 1.80
6 GOLDEN ONE ** Australian-bred 3YO who debuts on the back of a good hit out at the trials. Gate 1 helps and can consider. 12
7 IRONPRINCE *** Australian-bred 3YO who has shown enough at the trials to think he has something to offer on debut. 8.00
8 JUNIPER SPIRIT ** Australian-bred 3YO who won his recent trial but wide gate with claimer could test. 20
9 RELENTLESS ** Australian-bred 3YO who has looked comfortable at the trials and market best guide. 20
10 SUNDAY * Australian-bred 3YO who needs to show more than he has at the trials. 50
11 TIGER ROAR *** Australian-bred 3YO who has looked good enough at the trials to think he has a big say on debut. Watch market. 8.00
12 YES ONE BALL * Australian-bred 3YO who needs to show more than he has at the trials. 25
13 JERAM GOLD * NZ-bred 3YO didn't need the wide gate on debut on what he has shown at the trials. 100
14 DONLIKEYOU * NZ-bred 3YO who has shown nothing at the trials. 100

Race 3

Selections; 6 TRADING POST - 2 IRONCLAD - 1 CHARGER - 8 SUN RECTITUDE
In what is a solid at best Class 4 field, a newcomer from Australia in TRADING POST can win at his Singapore debut. Known as Salton Sea before arrival, TRADING POST won well on debut in South Australia and his local trials have been easily good enough to think he is hard to beat with Duric up from gate 4. Of those we know, IRON CLAD has done little wrong since arriving from Australia and no reason why he can't win again in a race that suits, while CHARGER and SUN RECTITUDE both placed last start in this company and both should figure. Keep the first emergency - QUANTUM - very safe as he had some in hand last start and wins when he gets some luck in running. Betting Strategy - TRADING POST win, saver on QUANTUM.
1 CHARGER *** Kept the winner honest last start this trip on the Poly and more than handles the turf. Can win. 6.00
2 IRONCLAD *** Resuming after a very good first campaign in Singapore. Has the speed to overcome wide gate with tongue-tie added. 5.00
3 SACRED JUDGEMENT ** Resuming. Has been honest without winning in Singapore and should figure with luck from gate 14. 12
4 SUPER POWER * Battled when resuming and have to take on trust. 33
5 TERRIFIC * Gets blinkers after poor first-up run but easier to ignore. 50
6 TRADING POST *** Former Australian who won on debut in Morphetville and his local trials good enough to think he can win at Singapore debut. 2.60
7 MIGHTY GENERAL ** Resuming after poor debut but has trialled well since and worth another look on UK form. 12
8 SUN RECTITUDE *** Not the type to win out of turn but placed last start and most recent win was this trip and track. Keep safe. 8.00
9 BIG DAY * Resuming. Rockhampton Maiden winner yet to beat a runner home in two Singapore outings. 100
10 PER INCROWN ** Maiden who placed last start on the Poly when leading in this Company and has to be considered from the ace. 12
11 NO REGRETS ** Resuming after a poor run of form but did place in this Company first up previously so worth thought. 12
12 BARTIMAEUS * Needs easier. 50
13 QUANTUM *** Can find trouble but had some in hand last start and work late suggests he wins one soon. Follow. 12
14 CAVALLA COURT ** Resuming after two battling runs in this Company after maiden win but should be competitive on the back of a good trial. 20

Race 4

Selections; 2 SUPER PINS - 6 QIJI FLYER - 12 STORMY VIEW - 8 JUST STARS
A terrible maiden and while we can make a case for a couple of horses on exposed form, most others have to improve to play a part and obviously the market will be best guide. The two horses that have some form are SUPER PINS and QIJI FLYER and, all things considered, they should get support and run well. SUPER PINS gets blinkers for the first time and has been solid of late, while QIJI FLYER had excuses two back when his saddle slipped and he doesn't have to improve much on his last start placing to win this. As mentioned, most others have to improve but the likes of STORMY VIEW, WEALTH ELITE, UNSTOPPABLE GIANT and JUST STARS could show up on trial form. Betting Strategy - watch market, SUPER PINS small win.
1 REALITY * Uruguay 4YO who hasn't shown up ate local trials. Market only guide. 50
2 SUPER PINS *** Disappointing with support last start but gets blinkers added and very forward run expected. 5.00
3 NINETYSIX WARRIOR * Battled when resuming and needs to show more. 33
4 THEODORE ** Resuming. Race form fair at best but recent trials good enough to consider sans tongue-tie with gate 1 a bonus. 12
5 QIJI STAR * Resuming. Has speed but will be found out late. 20
6 QIJI FLYER *** Drawn awkwardly but excuses two back and showed enough last start to be a big chance in this weak field. 4.00
7 HAPPY FRIDAY ** Had some excuses for poor debut and can improve on solid trial form prior. 12
8 JUST STARS *** Only battled on debut but has trialled solidly since and can improve. 8.00
9 UNSTOPPABLE GIANT *** Resuming after two disappointing runs but trials OK, gate 2 helps and could improve sans blinkers. 8.00
10 WEALTH ELITE *** Resuming. Very disappointing on debut and drawn wide but another to keep safe on the back of good trial form. 8.00
11 DON'T TELL TILLY * Needs to improve on debut effort. 33
12 STORMY VIEW *** Resuming. Race form terrible but always trials good enough to consider and gets Duric. 6.00
13 KING MIDAS * Has speed but will weaken sans winkers. 50
14 MAJESTY WARRIOR * Resuming sans blinkers but hard to have. 50

Race 5

Selections; 1 GOLD KINGDOM - 7 SCOOTER - 2 LEMON SQUASH - 6 ELENA OF AVALOR
Another tricky Class 5 race - this one over the mile and two tricky bends. Five horses are all second up after 'pipe-openers' over 1200m and all should improve again over a more suitable trip. Of those, GOLD KINGDOM looks the pick of the bunch after placing over 1200m and with Vlad Duric up from gate 4, he will be hard to hold out. LEMON SQUASH and JOYFUL ASPIRATION also improve with the run over 1200m under their belt and should play a part, while ELANA OF AVALOR and BROTHER MAK MAK are also in the mix on the back of solid runs. Of the others, SCOOTER is resuming after a very good run of form and has to be a winning show from gate 1, while both emergencies - SHANGANI and CODIGOS - both look suited to run big races if they get a start. Betting Strategy - GOLD KINGDOM win.
1 GOLD KINGDOM *** Placed over 1200m on the Poly when resuming and hard to beat over a more suitable trip. 2.30
2 LEMON SQUASH *** Battled away OK last start over 1200m and won maiden this trip (albeit on turf) three back. Keep safe. 8.00
3 JOYFUL ASPIRATION *** Gate a concern but another that will appreciate a sighter over 1200m and improves lengths stepping up to the mile with upgrade to blinkers. 12
4 ROMAN CLASSIC * Hard to have on form but most recent win was this trip so could improve with blinkers back on. 33
5 ANGEL HALO ** Resuming. Form last prep was disappointing but may have appreciated the break. Watch market. 20
6 ELENA OF AVALOR *** First up run was good and mile no problem so should figure with blinkers removed. 8.00
7 SCOOTER *** Resuming. Found some good form last campaign and should figure prominently from gate 1. 4.00
8 BROTHER MAK MAK ** Backing up after solid placing over 1200m last start and step up in trip is ideal but gate will test. 20
9 TIN'S MACHINE * Battles. 33
10 OFFICIAL ** Resuming. Form poor last campaign but recent trials OK so could improve at odds. 20
11 SUMMER GLITTER * Resuming. Has gone forward previously in similar races to this but gate will test. 33
12 HORSE KING * Resuming. Appreciates good gate and the odd OK trial but easier to ignore. 33
13 SHANGANI *** Resuming. Race suits and would have a say from gate 3 on best form. 8.00
14 CODIGOS *** Resuming. Always a chance in races like this with best work expected late. 5.00

Race 6

Selections; 10 KING'S COMMAND - 1 CLERGYMAN - 7 FAST AND FEARLESS - 2 TRAFALGAR
It doesn't get any easier for punters with this Maiden having many winning hopes and a busy finish is expected. Stephen Gray has a couple of live chances at the top of the weights with both CLERGYMAN and TRAFALGAR ready to go first up over 1400m. Of the two, CLERGYMAN probably starts favourite on the form he showed last preparation and with winkers added and Ronnie Woodworth up, he looks hardest to beat. But TRAFALGAR gets a claim and blinkers added and might be the value option with some nice trials under his belt. KING'S COMMAND looks the biggest danger. The 4YO is first up after two very promising runs and he will be motoring late and can win with Duric up. Throw the blanket over MIGHTY VAIN, ALL WE KNOW, CAPONE and FAST AND FEARLESS with market best guide on the two newcomers from Ireland in SUN PALACE and SUN HOLIDAY. Betting Strategy - KING'S COMMAND win.
1 CLERGYMAN *** Resuming. Winkers added on the back of a couple of quiet trials. Just missed last start and hard to beat. 3.00
2 TRAFALGAR *** Resuming. Gets blinkers added and can win back in Maiden Company on the back of some nice trials. 12
3 MIGHTY VAIN *** Never really involved over 1200m when resuming but this race suits and should figure from gate 2. 8.00
4 ALL WE KNOW *** Resuming after long break. Has run on well at three career starts and pay to follow with blinkers first time. 8.00
5 CAPONE *** Resuming. Drawn wide but appreciates being back in Maiden Company and can figure. 12
6 RIVER ROCA * Needs to show more and gate no help. 50
7 FAST AND FEARLESS *** Ran on well when resuming and to place and step up to 1400m ideal. Can figure. 7.00
8 DECLARE WAR * OK late last start when resuming but needs to show more. 50
9 TELL ME * Placed three back this trip but that was a weaker maiden than this so happy to ignore. 33
10 KING'S COMMAND *** Resuming. Impressed when running on well at both career starts and hard to hold out. 5.00
11 SUN PALACE ** Former Irish galloper who place two from six and make his local debut on the back of a solid trial. Watch market. 12
12 SUN HOLIDAY ** Another former Irish galloper who comes into this on the back of a solid hit out. Market best guide. 20
13 TOBRUK ** Resuming. Honest and recent trial good enough to keep safe at value. 20
14 SHOWBOUND ** Shown glimpses, appreciates gate 1 and forward run expected with blinkers added. 20

Race 7

Selections; 3 INFERNO - 2 SENOR DON - 7 SIAM ROYAL ORCHID - 5 NO FUN NO GAIN
It may have taken the Covid-19 exodus to get Michael Rodd off the boom 4YO INFERNO but rest assured Vlad Duric will be doing his best to win today and keep the ride going forward. INFERNO took everything before him winning at Group level as a two and three-year-old and while he lowered his colours for the first time last start, he has trialled super and will be hard to beat. The danger may be another Group winner - albeit in Argentina - in SENOR DON. The 4YO entire won twice at Group level over the mile but his local trials have been good enough to think 1200m in this Company is a fair first up assignment. Plenty of the locals are in form though and SIAM ROYAL ORCHID looks up to this level and will get support, while NATIONALITY, MR HOOPER, GOLDEN FLAME and TRAPIO are also all last start winners. NO FUN NO GAIN Just another to keep safe in exotics. Betting Strategy - INFERNO win.
1 THE BIG EASY * Resuming. Recent form poor and have to take on trust. 33
2 SENOR DON *** Group winner from Argentina who has trialled well enough locally to keep safe although he will improve again over more ground. 6.00
3 INFERNO *** Resuming. Group winner at two and three. Can make excuses for last start defeat when giving winner a start. Hard to hold out here. 1.80
4 NATIONALITY ** Won well when resuming in this Company but this does look a tougher ask with 2.5kg extra to carry. 12
5 NO FUN NO GAIN ** Resuming. Disappointing with heavy support in this Company last start and have to take on trust. 12
6 MR HOOPER ** Competitive but recent wins in Class 4 and that looks his caper. 20
7 SIAM ROYAL ORCHID *** Resuming. Progressive type who knows how to win and will have admirers from gate 2. 8.00
8 SUPER FORTUNE * Resuming. Form better than it reads given race suits and may sneak into exotics at odds. 50
9 LEGEND OF THE SUN * Caught wide but weakened at first Singapore outing. Might need easier. 50
10 GOLDEN FLAME * Last start Class 4 winner who may need longer in this Company. 20
11 RED DAWN * Resuming. Prefer in Class 4. 33
12 TRAPIO ** Resuming. Turned some good Class 4 form into a win and should be competitive here. 12
13 WATCH OUT BOSS ** Resuming. Gate a concern but showed last start he is up to Class 3 Company and pay to keep safe. 12
14 STREET CRY SUCCESS ** Resuming after two poor runs in Class 3 but recent trials good enough to watch first up at odds. 20

Race 8

Selections; 5 WHERE SHE'S HAPPY - 2 CIZEN LUCKY - 6 FIGHT TO VICTORY - 1 BENCOOLEN
A Class 5 over 1400m which is a serious trip for most in this race and there will be plenty here that will sleep well afterwards. One that might have some upside is the resuming WHERE SHE'S HAPPY. Trained by Cliff Brown, the Blackfriars mare ran on well at her last outing in Novice class over this trip and will find this easier; she has only had the five starts and with Vlad Duric to ride gets a chance to show improvement. FIGHT FOR VICTORY led before fading when resuming over 1200m on poly; he will strip fitter and his only win was at this trip. CIZEN LUCKY is resuming but his only win was over this trip three starts back; he draws to do no work and will run on. Others suited by class and distance are EL CHAPO, BENCOOLEN and PRINCE PEGASUS. Betting Strategy - small win WHERE SHE'S HAPPY.
1 BENCOOLEN ** Resuming. Caught wide before battling over 1600m last start. Claim helps and should get a good run. 8.00
2 CIZEN LUCKY *** Resuming. Only win was over this trip three starts back. Well drawn and will run on with blinkers back on. 4.00
3 EL CHAPO ** Resuming after solid trial. Not far away over 1600m in KSD four starts back and could show up. Watch market. 8.00
4 HOSAYLIAO ** Did nothing when resuming on poly. Poorly drawn but only win was at this trip. Can improve. 20
5 WHERE SHE'S HAPPY *** Resuming. Put in a solid effort in Novice class over this trip last start. Yet to place but hasn't been far away at five outings. Trip suits and has Vlad Duric to ride. 4.00
6 FIGHT TO VICTORY *** Led before fading when resuming over 1200m on poly. Will strip fitter and only win was at this trip. 4.00
7 AWESOME CONQUEROR * Only battled on poly when resuming. Maiden whose only placing in eight starts was on turf over 1200m. Poorly drawn but could run on. 25
8 FOREVER GOOD * Only battled when resuming and has struggled since Maiden win over 1200m. Switch to turf may help. 50
9 LIM'S RHYTHM * Resuming without blinkers and tongue-tie. Has won at this trip but best recent form is on poly over 1600m. Will get back and run on. 25
10 PRINCE PEGASUS ** Won over trip before arrival. Battled on when resuming and could show up with a positive ride. 10
11 PEGASUS JUNIOR * Only battled when resuming and poorly drawn but does get blinkers. 25
12 FLASH THE FLAG * Resuming. Yet to place in 13 outings. Will go forward but needs to improve. 100
13 SOLID CASH * Distanced when resuming. Needs to improve. 100
14 HIGH STREET * Did nothing when resuming. Better suited this trip but needs to improve. 100

Race 9

Selections; 1 WONDERFUL KNIGHT - 3 BUURAQ - 5 SILENT FORCE - 7 MIRACLE
Many chances in this Class 4 with most having credentials at the distance in this class. WONDERFUL KNIGHT is a veteran but is a proven performer in this company. The 10YO resumed well on the poly, has trialled well since and can get in the finish with a forward run expected. BUURAQ is poorly drawn but has trialled well, was ultra-consistent in similar company last preparation and he can't be ignored. SILENT FORCE lost form at the end of his last preparation but his recent trial showed Lee Freedman may have turned him around and he looks a good chance from the inside gate. MIRACLE is having his first Singapore outing but placed and won a Wodonga Maiden at his only two Australian starts; with Vlad Duric up, he may have the speed to overcome the wide gate. Others that can show up in a wide-open race are LIMITED EDITION, STRAP MARKS and the speedy newcomer CHICAGO STAR. Betting Strategy - WONDERFUL KNIGHT each-way.
1 WONDERFUL KNIGHT *** Resumed well on poly and has trialled well since. Suited this company and can get in the finish. 4.00
2 LIMITED EDITION *** Led before fading when resuming on poly. Poorly drawn again but should be prominent. 6.00
3 BUURAQ *** Resuming after good trial. Poorly drawn but was very consistent last prep. Can run on. 4.00
4 CHICAGO STAR * Toowoomba Maiden winner having first Singapore start. Has speed and could give a sight. 16
5 SILENT FORCE *** Resuming after solid trial. Latest form ordinary but has won this class and distance. Well drawn. Watch market. 6.00
6 STRAP MARKS ** Resuming after solid trial. Got tongue over bit last start following back-to-back wins. Gate no help. 10
7 MIRACLE *** Wodonga Maiden winner having first Singapore outing. Trialled well and showed promise at only two Australian outings. Poorly drawn but could show up with Vlad Duric to ride. 6.00
8 SATELLITE WARRIOR * Only battled when resuming. Both career wins have been over longer. 33
9 MANDRAKE * Argentinean having first Singapore outing. Trialled well but previous win was over 1600m. 25
10 GOLDEN DASH * Resuming and trialled well. Won Maiden at this trip but best recent form is on poly. Gate no help. 33
11 LAI MAK MAK * Only battled when resuming on poly. Last win was over this trip and blinkers may help. 33
12 SUPER RAY * Resuming with blinkers. Needs to improve on recent form. 100
13 DAZZLE GOLD * Only battled when resuming. Best form over longer. 50
14 RISE OF EMPIRE ** Resuming and trialled soundly. Showed promise winning Maiden last prep. Has speed and should be prominent. 20

Race 10

Selections; 5 MR MALEK - 6 ROCKET STAR - 2 QUARTER BACK - 3 ARAMANI
Another strong race with plenty of chances but it may be a race in two for punters with MR MALEK and ROCKET STAR the fancies. MR MALEK has won four of his five starts - the most recent when he dead-heated in this class over this trip; if Lee Freedman has him ready after a recent trial he can sit prominent and be hard to beat. ROCKET STAR hasn't got the 'picket fence' that MR MALEK has in his formbook but is always in the finish and his first-up win in Class 4 was impressive; Duric stays on and he can win again. The support cast is good and the likes of THE QUARTERBACK, FEDERATION and last start winner, LIM'S PASSION, are all in the mix, while MAKKEM LAD, ELITE INCREDIBLE and ARAMANI are capable of improvement. Two swoopers in GOLD STAR and ABSOLVIDO play a part late if race run to suit. Betting Strategy - MR MALEK win.
1 MAKKEM LAD ** Only battled on poly when resuming from wide gate but should be improved though poorly drawn again. 12
2 QUARTER BACK ** Resuming and trialling well. Placed over 1400m at second outing after dropping in class. Trip suits and should get a good run throughout. 12
3 ARAMANI ** Led before weakening at first Singapore outing. Has trialled since and can improve. Best Australian form well up to this. 12
4 FEDERATION ** Resuming and trialled solidly. Consistent last prep and has won in this class. Goes best fresh but gate no help. 12
5 MR MALEK *** Resuming after winning four of five -the last being a dead-heat. Has speed and will be hard to hold off. 2.60
6 ROCKET STAR *** Bolted in on poly in Class 4 when resuming. Has won three and hasn't missed a place in ten starts. Will find this harder but drops 2kg and Duric stays on. 4.00
7 ELITE INCREDIBLE ** Resuming. Trialled well and blinkers go back on. Was running in stronger races than this last prep. Has speed and should be prominent. 20
8 GOLD STAR ** Resuming. Swooper who won in this class over 1400m last start. Will be running on strongly if race run to suit. 12
9 LIM'S PASSION ** Resumed with strong effort in Class 4 on poly. This is harder but rarely runs poorly and 1200m from good gate on turf suits. 8.00
10 ASGARD MASSIF * Disappointed at first Singapore outing. Well drawn again but needs to improve. 100
11 BURKAAN * Resuming. Recent efforts poor and better on poly. 100
12 ABSOLVIDO ** Checked early before running on late when resuming on poly. Will get back but close late. 20
13 LIM'S MAGIC * Did nothing when resuming. Getting down in grade but hasn't won for a long time. Gate no help. 50
14 WASSERGEIST ** Resuming. Recent form poor but last win was this class and distance and recent trials have been very good. Keep safe. 33

Race 11

Selections; 1 JK FORMIDABLE - 4 PAPERBACK TROOPER - 7 WINNING SPIRIT - 6 WELL DESERVED
If honesty counts for anything, JK FORMIDABLE will be hard to beat in this Class 5. The Pins 6YO has only won once from 13 starts but has placed seven times - the last two in Class 4; this distance suits and with Marc Lerner to ride he will be near the speed throughout. PAPERBACK TROOPER is a veteran of this class and was only found out late last start over 1200m; fitter for two outings and better suited this trip, he will be prominent. WINNING SPIRIT is a four start Maiden but has placed twice and was only run down late over 1000m when resuming; from the good gate he can give a sight. DECRETO, RAPID FIRE and FIDDLESTICK add depth to this Class 5 and are capable of making their presence felt and WELL DESERVED gets Duric. Be wary of the class droppers LINCOLN COUNTY and SOUTHERN WIND; both were winners in Australia before arrival and should be up to this. Betting Strategy - JK FORMIDABLE win.
1 JK FORMIDABLE *** Resuming and trialled well. Consistent for this class and has speed to overcome gate. Finds it hard to win but will get in the money. 4.00
2 LINCOLN COUNTY ** Made some ground when resuming but yet to place in eight outings since arrival as a Wyong Maiden winner. Drops in class but gate no help. 12
3 SOUTHERN WIND ** Resuming and drops in class after eight unplaced outings since arrival. Watch market on the back of a good trial. 8.00
4 PAPERBACK TROOPER *** Was only found out late last start over 1200m after tough run from wide gate. Better suited this trip and will be prominent. 5.00
5 RUMBLE * Resuming. Has shown nothing in three starts but may improve in Class 5. 100
6 WELL DESERVED ** Struggled when resuming with support but went well for Duric two back so keep safe. 12
7 WINNING SPIRIT *** Run down when resuming over 1000m. Will strip fitter and can be prominent for a long way with upgrade to blinkers. 5.00
8 RAPID FIRE ** Fought on when resuming over 1000m. Well-drawn and should be handy. 10
9 FIDDLESTICK ** Resuming. Late Fight for Glory. Finds it hard to win but was not far away last preparation an recent trials good enough to consider. 12
10 MASTER SOMMELIER * Resuming and trialled well. Yet to place in seven outings and this Class 5 has some depth. 50
11 DECRETO ** Ran on well when resuming over this trip. Hard to follow but can get in the finish again. 10

Race 12

Selections; 8 MURAAHIB - 6 DARC BOUNTY - 9 RIVER RADIANCE - 7 SIAM WARRIOR
Many of these haven't won for a long time but MURAAHIB is due. Trained by Lee Freedman, the 6YO resumes with a tongue-tie on the back of some solid trials, can go forward and will be hard to beat from a good gate. RIVER RADIANCE is resuming and has trialled well. The 5YO took on Group company last preparation and struggled but his previous form was strong, is suited by this trip and the tongue-tie helps. DARC BOUNTY was swamped late when resuming and while he is poorly drawn here, he has early speed and can give a sight again. SIAM WARRIOR is first up after issues last start and his form prior is good enough for this. Include PENNYWISE, DRAGON DUKE and RED ROVER in exotics. Betting Strategy - MURAAHIB win.
1 PENNYWISE ** Only battled when resuming. Fitter now but might need longer. 12
2 CONSTANT JUSTICE * Ran on without threatening when resuming. Fitter now and senior rider helps. 33

9 RIVER RADIANCE *** Resuming. Trialled well. Was struggling in Group races late last prep but previous form strong. Suited this trip and tongue-tie helps. 6.00
10 DRAGON DUKE ** Battled on when resuming. Up in class but fitter now and trip suits. 20
11 RED ROVER ** Resuming and trial was sound. Better in Class 3 but is honest. 20
12 AUTUMN RUSH * Ran on solidly when resuming in Class 3. This is harder but will be doing best work late. 33
13 MAN OF MYSTERY * Resuming. Trialled well but needs easier. 33

Race 13

Selections; 8 TOM CAT - 5 HEALTHY STAR - 6 PALETAS - 7 THOMAS DE LAGO
Most of these are Class 4 battlers but the one with upside may be the Lee Freedman-trained TOP CAT. The Wandjina 4YO showed promise at his first preparation winning over 1100m and was a good runner-up in this class when the saddle slipped; his recent trial was strong and with Simon Kok to ride from a good gate, will be hard to pass. The stablemate HEALTHY STAR also trialled well; he had respiratory issues last start but has speed and should be prominent. SIERRA CONQUEROR led before weakening when resuming, has trialled well since and with blinkers on can give a sight. PALETAS pulled up lame last start after winning on debut; keep safe. THOMAS DE LAGO, SUPER SIX, OTTAWA and IMPERIUM are Class 4 journeymen that don't win out of turn but are capable of making their presence felt. Betting Strategy - Freedman forecast with TOP CAT and HEALTHY STAR.
1 ME NO MARSH MELLOW * Having first Singapore outing a five Malaysian outings for one win and three placings. Trial was sound but poorly drawn. Watch market. 33
2 SUPER SIX ** Made some ground late when resuming. 10YO but capable this class and distance. 14
3 SIERRA CONQUEROR *** Led before weakening when resuming. Has trialled since and with blinkers on can give a sight. 4.00
4 OTTAWA ** Resuming and trial was sound. Doesn't win often but well drawn, gets visor added and Class, distance suit. 10
5 HEALTHY STAR *** Resuming and trial was solid. Had respiratory issues last start but has speed and should be prominent. 5.00
6 PALETAS *** Resuming. Trialled well, Won over this trip on debut before pulling up lame at subsequent outing. Should be prominent. 8.00
7 THOMAS DE LAGO *** Fought on when resuming. Will strip fitter and claim helps. Finds it hard to win but will be thereabouts, 10
8 TOM CAT *** Resuming. Trialled well. Showed promise at first preparation and may have more upside than most. Has speed and will be hard to pass. 6.00
9 BIONICS * Resuming without blinkers. Trialled well but has shown little in four starts since arrival. Gate no help. 50
10 IMPERIUM ** Resuming and trialled well. Finding it hard to win and drawn badly but last preparation was rarely far way. 10

12 LIM'S FORCE * Resuming. Last win was in Class 5 and wide gate no help. 50
13 MY HORSE * Resuming. Appreciates the Poly but better in Class 5. 33
14 ASAAD * Resuming. Struggled at only Singapore outing but gets blinkers. May need longer. 50

Race 14

Selections; 3 DINGHU MOUNTAIN - 6 SOLAR ECLIPSE - 7 WAR PRIDE - 9 GAMELY
It always pays to be wary of the class dropper in these Class 4's so DINGHU MOUNTAIN comes under notice. The 8YO made some ground late when resuming in Class 3 on the poly, drops in grade and more than handles the turf; he is awkwardly drawn but only needs a reasonable run in transit from Simon Kok to win. WAR PRIDE is resuming after showing promise last preparation and while he is bred for longer, he did win his Maiden at this trip and with the claim for Zyrul, will be running on. The Cliff Brown-trained SOLAR ECLIPSE is one to watch. He brings good Argentinean form and while he would prefer 1400m, he is trialling well and with Vlad Duric riding, can show up fresh from the good gate. GAMELY doesn't win often, but ran his usual honest race when resuming so include in exotics. Betting Strategy - DINGHU MOUNTAIN win.
1 THE AUGUST ** Led and weakened at Singapore debut on poly. Has trialled since. Placed in Group III in Australia before arrival. Can improve on turf. 20
2 MCGREGOR ** Resuming and will need longer but showed last start that he has plenty to offer in Class 4. 12
3 DINGHU MOUNTAIN *** Made some ground late when resuming on Class 3. Drops in grade and is well up to this grade. 3.00
4 OUR PINNACLE ** Resuming. Trialled well. Finds it hard to win but is very consistent. Has speed but gate tests. 12
5 RESTRAINED ** Slowly away but not far away when resuming. Will be running on. 12
6 SOLAR ECLIPSE *** Brings good Argentinean form. Would prefer 1400m but trialled well and can show up fresh from good gate. 4.00
7 WAR PRIDE *** Resuming after showing promise last preparation. Bred for longer but won Maiden at this trip and will be running on. 4.00
8 BIG MARY ** Won twice from 11 starts at NSW Northern Rivers tracks before arrival. Has speed but poorly drawn. Watch market. 33
9 GAMELY ** Battled on well from wide gate when resuming. Finds it hard to win but better drawn here and should be prominent. 16

11 SUN MONARCH * Resuming. Trial was solid but form poor since arrival. 100
12 UPGRADED * Resuming. Trialled well. Broke through over 1600m last start. Might find these too sharp. 33

14 GALAXY STAR ** Hit front before fading when resuming. Blinkers back on and can improve. 20
