Fresh from her blowout win in the Makybe Diva Stakes, Jamie Kah is eyeing more elite-level glory this weekend at Caulfield.
The 23-year-old has picked up the ride on rejuvenated gelding So Si Bon in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m).
Kah registered her second G1 success in last Saturday’s Flemington feature aboard $101 chance Gatting and is eager to make the most of this weekend’s opportunity, which came about owing to a suspension incurred by Luke Nolen.
“I was speaking to my manager (Nick Pinkerton) yesterday and he thinks this is probably the best chance we’ve had going into a Group 1,” Kah told RSN927’s Racing Pulse.
“As things can happen this time of year, in spring, people get suspended and unfortunately Luke got suspended the other day, so I picked up the ride and I’m really excited about riding him. He’s in terrific form.”
So Si Bon’s only two starts this campaign have netted first-up victory in the G3 Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m) and a three-quarters-of-a-length second to Scales Of Justice in the G1 Memsie Stakes (1400m).
