The Peter Moody trained Incentivise is the TAB $2.80 favourite for the $1m, TAB Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on Saturday with Verry Elleegant (NZ) on the second line of the All In market at $3.20 after 20 nominations were received on Monday.
Incentivise completed his seventh win in succession when taking the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes over 1600m at Flemington on September 11th over Mo’unga and Sir Dragonet (IRE). Both are also nominated for Saturday with Mo’unga also nominated for the $1.5m, Group 1 TAB Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday.
The winning sequence for Incentivise, a five-year-old Shamus Award gelding, started at the Sunshine Coast last April in a maiden over 1600m when under the care of Steve Tregea. After winning the Group 3 Tatts Cup over 2400m at Eagle Farm in June he was transferred to Moody at Pakenham.
Chris Waller’s Verry Elleegant (NZ), who won the Turnbull Stakes last year on her way to winning the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) at Caulfield, is duel nominated for the $1m, Group 2 WFA Hill Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.
Verry Elleegant won the Group 1 WFA George Main Stakes over 1600m at Randwick on September 18th over Riodini (NZ) and Think It Over. The Waller stable have also nominated Atishu (NZ), Hungry Heart, Sheraz (FR) and Surefire (GB).
The track is rated a Good 4 on Monday with the rail out 9m for the entire circuit.
Melbourne’s weather this week has significant rain forecast for Wednesday with 15mm to 25mm possible and 19c. Cloudy days are forecast for Thursday with 5mm to 10mm and 20c, 4mm to 8mm possible and 19c Friday and 1mm to 4mm possible for Saturday and 12c to 18c.
