RACE 1: Funnels Smash Repairs 3YO Maiden Plate 1600m
Satirical Knight – on jumping was bumped by Cajun Music, which shifted in, then shortly after was crowded when Elcano shifted out.
Milennium Force – began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which compounded from the 600m and was beaten 44 lengths, revealed it to be displaying a poor post-race recovery. Stable representative Ms K Lane was advised Milennium Force must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
Costa Zou – from a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Zenardini – when questioned regarding his riding, B El-Issa stated that he had anticipated racing prominently and when his mount began only fairly he rode it along out of the barriers to take up a forward position. He said that when he observed Milennium Force, which was the outsider of the field, crossing to obtain the lead rounding the first turn he did not wish to trail that horse in the race so he shifted out and followed Elcano. He added that when Elcano was being restrained by its rider and his mount was racing keenly he became awkwardly positioned close to that runner’s heels and shifted to a three wide position. B El-Issa further stated that, as the tempo at that point was slow in his opinion, he elected to ride his mount forward to obtain the lead, however, when Elcano improved to his mount’s inside passing the 1100m, he was obliged to do more work to obtain the lead than he would have liked. He said, after crossing to the fence near the 800m he was then able to slacken the pace. B El-Issa agreed with Stewards that in hindsight the better option would have been to remain racing behind Elcano rounding the first turn, which would have given his mount a trailing position and avoided it working wide and without cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained speedy cuts to its off-hind cannon.

Quick Nick then continued to hang in throughout the middle stages and when placed under pressure in the home straight. She said that, after crossing to the fence near the 900m, she attempted to slow the tempo, however, her mount refused to settle and set a faster tempo than she would have liked.
Alba Wings – laid out rounding the home turn.
Radical Impact – raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Passing the 100m was steadied when crowded between Cascata Rossa which shifted in when inclined to lay in, and Destorner, which was taken out slightly by Ribs.

Under The Pump – was leaning on the offside barrier partition as the start was effected and as a consequence was slow to begin, then was shifted behind runners in the early stages from its wide barrier. Commenced to hang in approaching the first turn and shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and the gelding losing ground. Stable representative Ms A Jackson was told that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

The Kiss – for some distance near the 700m had to be checked away from the heels of Show Me The Honey.
Bedtime Stories – raced keenly in the early stages.
Zeta’s Rocket – raced keenly in the early stages.
Red Marauder – laid out rounding the home turn.
Show Me The Honey – when questioned, rider N Heywood stated that he had anticipated taking up a prominent position and, after his was slow to begin, he rode it with vigour in the early stages, however, it failed to muster speed. He said that passing the 800m, when it became apparent that if he continued to ride forward his mount would be caught wide, he elected to restrain his mount to obtain cover trailing Zeta’s Rocket. He added that his mount travelled fairly throughout the middle stages, however, when placed under full pressure from the 400m, failed to quicken and in his opinion struggled under the big weight of 61.5 kilograms. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 8: Airpak Sheetmetal Benchmark 70 Handicap 2600m

A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. The post-race condition of the mare will be followed up with the stable.
Misty Mountain Hop – when questioned regarding leading today, A Layt stated that he was issued no specific instructions, however, when his mount began well and pulled hard in the early stages and no other runner showed intent to lead, he allowed his mount to stride forward and assume the lead, where it travelled comfortably.
Jagger – when questioned regarding her riding from the 600m, App. M Weir stated that she had trailed By Design throughout the race, however, as she did not feel that that horse would improve into the race, she elected to shift out and follow My Psychiatrist near the 600m. She said when My Psychiatrist did not improve its position her mount became held up behind that runner and inside the heels of Stradazzle. She added that when By Design shifted out away from the rail near the 500m, she shifted her mount back to the fence to improve to that runner’s inside, however, shortly after straightening she became badly held up behind the weakening leaders Misty Mountain Hop and Diamond Star Halo, obliging her to check her mount near the 150m and shift to the outside of Diamond Star Halo to continue to improve. App. Weir further stated that she was then able to place her mount under pressure for a short distance, however, over the final 50m was unable to ride her mount out when racing in restricted room between Everly Girl and Diamond Star Halo, which shifted out when weakening and as a consequence her mount went to the line unable to be fully tested.
