An early double on Caulfield Cup Day put Mick Dee in the box seat for a $100,000 pay day as part of Racing Victoria's new Star of the Saddle.
Dee piloted Mike Moroney's Alabama Express to victory in the Listed Gothic Stakes (1400m) less than an hour after securing a win aboard the Tony McEvoy-trained Pretty Brazen.
Moroney said Alabama Express would next tackle the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington.

The double was a welcome result for Dee, who was handed a 10-meeting suspension for careless riding at Pakenham on Friday night.
He will miss both Group 1 meetings during the Cox Plate Carnival but is free to return to the saddle on Bendigo Cup Day.
