Callan's licence suspended

The Hong Kong Jockey Club advised on Wednesday that the Licensing Committee at their meeting held on Wednesday morning that jockey Neil Callan was called to attend a hearing by the Licensing Committee to consider the status of his current 2020/2021 Club Jockey’s Licence pursuant to Rule 14(2) of the Rules of Racing.  

Having on Wednesday conducted a hearing on this matter the Committee has decided that Callan’s current 2020/2021 Club Jockey’s licence should be suspended until the end of the 2020/2021 racing season with immediate effect.  

Callan has a right of appeal to the Stewards of the Jockey Club against this decision of the Licensing Committee.  

Callan has 21 winners and 56 placings from 339 rides this season, finishing his Hong Kong career – which has spanned a decade – with 276 victories - reporting scmp.com.
