Brilliant Way, Galaxy Witness and Lucky Sweynesse elected as final nominees for Champion Griffin

The Champion Awards Judging Panel confirmed on Monday that the John Size-trained Brilliant Way, Caspar Fownes-trained Galaxy Witness and Manfred Man-trained Lucky Sweynesse have been elected as the final nominees for this season’s Champion Griffin award. The full list of the final nominees for The Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards 2021/2022 is shown as follows:

The Judging Panel is comprised of three members each from The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and the Association of Hong Kong Racing Journalists.

The HKJC votes are made by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges; Director of Racing Product, Marketing and Sponsorship, Mr William Nader and Head of Handicapping, Race Planning and International Racing, Mr Nigel Gray.

The three members from the Association of Hong Kong Racing Journalists are Chairman Mr Carlos Wu, Vice Chairman Mr Kong Yuk Fai and Committee Member Mr Wong Ching To.

The Judging Panel commended the connections of each of the final nominees on the excellent performances of their horses this season.

Winners of the Champion Awards will be announced at The Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards 2021/2022 presentation ceremony to be held on Friday, 15 July, with the presentation ceremony being live broadcast on Club’s online platforms including the Hong Kong Jockey Club Website, HKJC Racing Facebook Page, HKJC Racing Sports Facebook Page, HKJC YouTube Channel, HKJC Racing Twitter and HKJC TV App.
