T Berry suspended
16 Aug 2012 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk Sydney jockey Tommy Berry was suspended by Racing NSW stewards’ from Thursday August 23rd until Monday August 27th at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Berry, the rider of No Bad Blood in the Canterbury Park Handicap (1250m), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that leaving the 600m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Eye Of The Needle, resulting in Eye Of The Needle losing its rightful running and having to be checked. In the incident Braggart was inconvenienced.
Berry will miss the Hawkesbury meeting on August 23rd, Warwick Stakes Day at Warwick Farm on Saturday, August 25th, and the Gosford meeting on Sunday, August 26th.
Racing NSW stewards reported that an inquiry into the veracity of the evidence provided by apprentice Adam Hyeronimus, rider of Eye Of The Needle, in this matter was adjourned to Saturday, 18 August 2012, so that Hyeronimus can be represented.
