Five winner tribute for Blevic
25 Jul 2012 | Kambula Stud Just three weeks after his passing the former South Australian based sire Blevic has sired five winners at the Murray Bridge meeting on Wednesday.
In a brilliant performance Blevic had seven progeny race for the meeting – in six races – for five wins.
Uschrike started the haul when successful for his breeder and trainer Greg Lesnikowski in the second race of the day.
Following in his hoofsteps to the winners stall were Castano Girl for Kylie Huxtable, Blevic Lad for Richard Jolly, Quick ‘n’ Slick for Kym Healy and Exalted Wonder for John Cornell.
Kambula Stud’s David Toole said the five win haul was a deserved achievement for Blevic.
“As we’ve been saying for many years, the progeny of Blevic are so versatile and tough,” Toole said.
“There’s not much more we can say about him. He was a marvellous sire and our family is so lucky to have been associated with him over the years.”
The progeny of Blevic have been starring on tracks around the country since he was sadly euthanized around three weeks ago. Glaneuse was a stakes winner at Flemington just days after his sire’s sad passing.
The Victoria Derby winner established himself as one of the country’s leading and most popular sires with a swag of feature winners. He has also made a name for himself as a broodmare sire with his daughters responsible for the likes of Phelan Ready and Alcopop.
On Saturday his runners will include Avoid Lightning in the listed Lightning Stakes and exciting juvenile Little Less Lip in the 2YO – both being run at Morphettville.
Toole said Kambula Stud had approximately 18 youngsters being prepared for next year’s yearling sales around Australia.
