Blevic put down after surgery
02 Jul 2012 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk The Toole family of Kambula Stud announced on Sunday the unfortunate passing of their stallion Blevic, a legend of South Australian breeding industry.
A resident at the Kadina based stud since 1996, Blevic was humanely euthanized after complications following colic surgery.
A dual Group One winning racehorse, Blevic was an enormously popular and successful sire. In his sixteen seasons at stud he served 1218 mares with fertility exceeding 90%.
To date he is the sire of 331 winners of over $21 million including 41 stakes horses with 24 stakes winners the calibre of Blevvo, Shewan, Moudre, Exalted Ego, Shablec, Streetcar Magic, Under The Bridge, Sassbee, Exalted Lad, Glaneuse etc.
Daughters of Blevic have already produced the stakes winners Phelan Ready, Alcopop, Pellizotti and Strawberry Field.
