New NSWROA committee member
15 Jun 2012 | NSWROA New South Wales Racehorse Owners Association (NSWROA) President, Mr Ray McDowell, has announced that Justice Wayne Haylen, QC is to join the NSWROA Committee to fill a casual vacancy.
Justice Haylen was an original member and de facto Deputy Chair of the Racing Appeals Panel and was a member and then Chairman of the Racing Appeals Tribunal.
He held the position of Trustee of Randwick Racecourse.
A Judge of the Industrial Court of New South Wales and Deputy President of the Industrial Commission of New South Wales, Justice Haylen is also Divisional Head, Legal Services Division of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal of New South Wales.
He has also served as Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Councillor of the Australian Consumers' Association (Publishers of Choice Magazine) for more than twenty years and as a Member of the State Consumer Advisory Committee, the Privacy Committee and other Policy Committees.
Mr McDowell stated “NSWROA is very fortunate indeed to obtain the services of Justice Haylen for the NSWROA Committee. His wealth of experience and involvement with the racing industry will be invaluable to our Committee.”
Mr McDowell went on to say “With the expertise, experience and initiative of the likes of John Vouris, Michael Inglis, Peter Beer, Bruce Cowell Louis Mihalyka, Tom O’Callaghan, Julia Ritchie and now Wayne Haylen, the Association continues to grow in stature.”
Justice Haylen said “I am delighted to be joining the Committee of the NSW Racehorse Owners Association and look forward to furthering the interests of racehorse owners.”
The appointment will commence from 2 July 2012.
