Stradbroke duo added to Perth Racing invites
14 Jun 2012 | Perthracing.com.au Saturdays Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm provided another two horses with the chance of racing at this year’s Festival of Perth Racing and afforded another with his second invite of a free return airfare from Melbourne to Ascot for the popular summer Festival.
Mid Summer Music, the surprise winner of the Stradbroke and Happy Zero (3rd) received there boarding passes post-race, whilst Buffering received another invite following his placing to Black Caviar in the Lightning Stakes earlier this year.
Peter Moody commented post-race that Mid Summer Music was best suited on rain affected going but was not discounting a trip west for possibly the $1M G1 Railway Stakes (1600m) on Super Saturday November 24.
The connections of Buffering, whilst again frustrated with another Group 1 placing, indicated a race like the $500,000 G1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) would suit their sprinter.
The final two races in the Festival of Perth Racing scheme will be run during the Melbourne Spring Carnival. The first three past the post who are suitably qualified in both the Emirates Stakes and Patinack Farm Classics will be eligible for the travel cost subsidy.
