RACE 1

Not an overly strong race. Laurie Laxon has a newcomer in Warrior (1) that was placed in New Zealand in maiden company and from barrier two for Koh Teck Huat should make a bold bid. Daddy Cool (10) hasn’t been too far away in recent assignments and looks well suited against this lot while Audio Friend (12) has put the writing on the wall with his last two performances and deserves consideration. Prize Fighter (7) has been disappointing of late but did run second three starts back and is worth another chance.

RACE 2

A tricky race with seven of the 14 acceptors lining up for their first starts. Super Kenny (10) is a nicely bred newcomer of Pat Shaw’s that won his only trial and has come up with a good barrier. Always A Winner (1) ran fourth on debut before contesting the Aushorse Golden Horsehoe in May. He’s since run fourth in a trial while Thrust (11) and Give Me Strength (5) are also nicely bred newcomers that have trialled soundly. If Chi Lin (13) can force his way into the field then he should be promoted.

RACE 3

Honest galloper Seize The Day (1) has finished in the money at his last five outings, including a win over this trip four starts back. The claim for apprentice T See brings him in nicely and a forward showing is expected. Soul Commander (3) ran a better race last time and a repeat of that performance will see him make a bold bid while Afriend (2) hasn’t been too far away of late in similar company and must be respected. Work Ahead (7) has been kept fresh since his narrow win last time and is worthy of thought.

RACE 4

Fitter for one run back from a spell and a rise in distance should be ideal for Golden Lido (2). Has a good record in this class and with Matt Kellady on board should go close. Chun Doong (1) appreciated the drop in class with an improved effort last time and expect him to go close while Bert (12) hasn’t been too far away in recent efforts and must be included in the hopes. Wolfsbane (8) battled home soundly last time and did win over a slightly shorter trip in this grade four runs back.

RACE 5

An open race with some good hopes. Looks a suitable race for Chateauneuf Dupape (4) which should strip fitter following a first-up third at his latest outing on July 1. Back to 1000m won’t be a problem and with Joao Moreira on board he should go close. Honest Truth (1) is going to find the 1000m more to his liking after disappointing last time over 1200m while Viva Panata (2) hits the line strongly in races over this trip and won’t be too far away again. Mighty Creation (5) was another to disappoint last time but his previous form was solid and he’s worth another chance.

RACE 6

Certainly not a race to be getting carried away with. Probo Chanderoso (3) is not long back in Class 5 grade and didn’t do a bad job last time when fifth over 1200m. Back to 1100m here suits and he should run well. Gateway (1) hasn’t been too far away in recent efforts and after the claim doesn’t look too badly off while Win Lots (10) can mix his form up but his last run was sound and a forward showing is expected. Santa Anita (9) is resuming here but has Joao Moreira on board and from barrier two should run well.

RACE 7

Pretty hard to knock the form of Solitaire (1). Scored first-up on the Polytrack before rattling home again last time. Step up to 1600m on the turf here looks ideal. Golden Dominator (3) won well two starts back before getting too far out of his ground last time. Expect a forward showing while Chief Secretary (7) is rarely too far away in a race of this nature and must be respected. Winning Success (10) is not long out of Class 5 grade but is racing well and has claims.

RACE 8

Another moderate line-up. Mongolian Star (2) has three placings from his past four starts and the form from his latest offering reads well. Oil Baron (9) has been a long time out of the winner’s circle but is still capable on his day while Distinct Niche (8) ran a good second three starts back and his efforts since have been sound. Desert Viking (10) is still a maiden but this is far from being a strong race and is worth including in multiples.

RACE 9

Smallest field of the day and it looks a tricky affair. Grand Approach (3) has only had the two runs in Singapore and has performed solidly on each occasion. He missed a start in the Emirates Singapore Derby last week but he should be fresh enough for the 1600m journey and does have Joao Moreira on board. Martin (4) is racing in great heart with two wins from his past three starts while Vaya Condios (7) chased bravely last time and while up in grade does drop in weight. Knight Spirit (1) was disappointing last time but his previous run was good and is worth another chance.

RACE 10

There doesn’t look to be a great deal of hopes here. Reverse Takeover (10) has been thereabouts in recent assignments, including four seconds from his last fives starts, and freshened up here must be considered. Zac Imperial (2) was a winner over this course and distance in April and looks one of the hopes while Conqueror (3) has been successful at two of his past five starts and won’t be too far away again. Knight Kingdom (7) has drawn a good gate and with the claim for Koh Teck Huat shouldn’t be too far away at the finish.

RACE 11

Most open race of the day with a number of good hopes. Good Loouken (1) did a good job at his debut in Singapore and can continue the good work. Should appreciate the extra ground and the rise in distance is also a plus. Golden Curl (8) can mix his form, but he’s down a little in weight this time and should be competitive while Running Tall (5) is an honest campaigner who is sure to make his mark in this line-up. Superczar (4) is rarely far away in a race of this nature and must be given serious consideration.

RACE 12

There doesn’t look to be a lot going for Thisisit (1) but he’s a promising horse. He rises 4kg on the weight he won with last time, but following the claim for Wong Wei Xiang he will carry the same weight. The rise in distance should suit. American Vision (5) has been racing consistently and with Joao Moreira on board he should make a bold bid while Black Rain (2) is better than his latest outings suggest and is well worth another chance. Affirmation (12) was freshened before his latest effort when hitting the line strongly and must be included in the hopes here.
