Cheyne to stay at Kranji till end of the year

South African jockey Greg Cheyne has seen his Club’s Licensed Jockey’s Licence renewed until the end of the year. The current jockey’s licence, which is due to expire on 31 July 2012, has been extended for five months until 31 December 2012.
 
Well sought by a variety of trainers at Kranji, Cheyne, 35, has ridden 21 winners in 235 rides since his relocation from Hong Kong – where he rode for three seasons - last February.
 
In a career spanning 16 years, Cheyne has ridden in excess of 1,100 winners including 61 Black Type winners and nine at Group 1 level.
 
Cheyne goes to scale at 51.5kgs.
