Verenzuela suspended for three days
03 Jun 2012 | Singapore Stewards At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 03 June 2012, Jockey J Verenzuela, the rider of Perfect Kid, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding Perfect Kid in Race 6 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 01 June 2012, near the 1000m, he did make insufficient effort to prevent his horse from shifting inwards, resulting in Danny Boy (E Aslam) having to check.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Verenzuela that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 08 June 2012 and Sunday, 10 June 2012.

The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 11 June 2012 until Friday, 22 June 2012 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days).

He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
