Baster suspended for two days
19 Aug 2012 | Singapore Stewards At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 19 August 2012, Jockey S Baster, the rider of The Comedian, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding The Comedian in Race 9 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 29 July 2012, near the 150m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, whilst riding it along, thereby crowding JUST DASHING (D Beasley) onto Mitre Peak (J Powell) with SO DASHING having to check.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Baster was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 20 August 2012 to Sunday, 26 August 2012 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
