Singapore Turf Club

Irish jockey Mark Gallagher has been granted a four month extension to his riding licence by the Singapore Turf Club.

Gallagher, whose current 12 month licence expires on 31 August 2010, has been granted an extension through until the end of the season, 31 December 2010.

The 41 year-old was first licensed by the Singapore Turf Club in March 2007 and has been a constant figure since.

Since his arrival in Singapore Gallagher has ridden 88 winners, highlighted by the 34 winners he rode during the 2009 season, placing him in ninth position on the Jockey’s Premiership Table.

However Gallagher has had a lean 2010 season, riding just seven winners at a strike-rate of 3.47%.

He goes to scale at 51.5kg.
