Interesting runner in Saturday’s Surround Stakes at Randwick is the unbeaten How Womantic. The filly clinched a trip with a strong gallop yesterday morning at Ballarat with the blinkers on. It’s another big step for How Womantic going into a Group One in just her 5th run.

Trainer @CalvinMcEvoy is hoping Xilong can handle the build up around Saturday’s Surround Stakes at Randwick. Missed a 1200m lead up race when playing up in the barriers. The filly was fine in a recent barrier trial. Wanted to be 2nd up in Surround so slightly vulnerable.

Catalyst appears to be right on the mark to win Saturday’s Australian Guineas at Flemington. Jockey @LaneDamian told trainer Clayton Chipperfield he certainly felt Catalyst had made good progress from a gallop prior to the CS Hayes run. More focused now in his work.
