Tabcorp held more than $170 million in turnover on Tuesday's 10 races at Flemington and $115 million on the Lexus Melbourne Cup across its TAB and UBET brands.
Total Tabcorp turnover on Flemington was down 7% on 2017, with the wet track conditions, as expected, impacting wagering. However, fixed odds betting yields were strong on the Flemington meeting.
The Lexus Melbourne Cup was won by Cross Counter who paid $12.20 on the NSW TAB tote, $12.00 on SuperTAB (which incorporates Victoria and ACT) and $10.80 on the UBET (Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory) tote. Cross Counter’s final TAB fixed odds price was $9.
This was the first Melbourne Cup operated by Tabcorp since the Tabcorp and Tatts combination in December 2017. Tabcorp now operates retail wagering in more than 4,300 venues in all states and territories (excluding
Western Australia), as well as via digital and call centre channels.
