The 2017 Longines Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign has been sold overseas to international interests Darby Racing confirmed on social media on Thursday evening.
The rising four-year-old by Manhattan Rain will continue to race under the care of Warwick Farm trainer Gary Portelli through the upcoming spring under the current ownership syndicate originally organised by Darby Racing.
"Mixed emotions for the owners, @GaryPortelli & Darby Racing. It’s been one hell of a ride & hopefully more wins in her last racing campaign, will be sorely missed!" said the syndication company.
She Will Reign won the Golden Slipper over 1200m at Rosehill by a dominant 2 1/4L under Ben Melham and then went forward to win her second Group 1 when taking the Moirs Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley. She was last seen when fifth in the Group 2 Arrowfield Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on April 14th.
She Will Reign, out of the Charge Forward mare Courgette, has won six of her 11 starts and placed second once for stakes of $3.2 million.
