Medical Certificate produced today:

Apprentice Ethan Brown was examined by the doctor after arriving on course and was passed fit to ride today after forgoing engagements at Pakenham yesterday.

 

Race 1- Le Pine Funerals Handicap - 1000m:

Tropezina - raced keenly through the early stages.

Tahlayla - raced wide without cover.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be bilaterally shin sore in front and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Uptown Lola - laid inwards in the home straight.

Kobe Princess - steadied near the finishing line when tightened for room between Cosmic Ruby and Tropezina, which shifted out.

 

Race 2- Sheen Group Handicap - 1400m:

Going In Style - late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 10.40am.

Ocean Walzer (GER) - had to be re-saddled behind the barriers resulting in a slight delay to the start of the race. Slow into stride. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. After the running of the race the RV veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding had mild colic.

Lorimer - bounded at the start.

Russian Romeo - began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Rider Regan Bayliss was of the view that the gelding would be better suited over less ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Full Of Theories - raced keenly through the early stages when being restrained.

Richly Speaking - raced three wide without cover.

Star Clipper - held up for clear running from the 400m until shifting out near the 250m.

 

Race 3- MyPunter.com Handicap - 1600m:

Pretty To Sea (NZ) - began awkwardly and was slow to begin and shortly after the start, apprentice Fred Kersley adjusted his near side iron. Raced three wide without cover from the 1000m. Fred Kersley was of the opinion that the filly may have come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Reliabelle (NZ) - weakened from the 300m; apprentice Stephanie Thornton was of the opinion that the filly resented the addition of the tongue tie. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Miss Belisa - rider Brad Rawiller stated that the filly failed to finish off as expected and in his opinion may have come to the end of its current preparation.

Za Za Gabor - rider Michael Dee reported that in his opinion the filly would be better suited over further ground.

 

Race 4- Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap - 2400m:

Mr Lebrock - connections advised would be ridden more forward; slow to begin and was then ridden along to obtain a position mid-field. Eased approaching the finishing line the first time, to avoid the heels of My Psychiatrist (Ben Thompson) which shifted in; Ben Thompson was severely reprimanded. Raced three wide without cover from the 1600m. Brushed on two occasions near the 400m by Hang Man (IRE) which had shifted out to obtain clear running.

Hang Man (IRE) - passing the winning post on the first occasion, brushed on two occasions when racing tightly on the inside of My Psychiatrist (Ben Thompson), which had attempted to shift in to a position behind Midas Man when not entitled to do so; Ben Thompson was severely reprimanded and notified that his actions would not be condoned.

Euroman (GB) - steadied at the 350m when shifting across the heels of Ancient King (IRE) to obtain clear running.

Music To Midnight - apprentice Georgina Cartwright reported that after being neutral out of the barriers, she was then obliged to race wide and therefore elected to settle back in the field.

Tea For Choux (NZ) - rider Jye McNeil was of the view his mount may be at the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 5- Polytrack Handicap - 1000m:

Destiny’s Reward - hampered at the start when tightened for room by Youl Thrashem, which was taken out by I’m Too Hot.

Queen Annabel - began awkwardly. Got its head up approaching the 700m when being restrained off the heels of Our Gladiator.

Nina Rules - slow to begin. Unbalanced passing the 200m when brushed by Flash Cash.

Epic Moment - raced wide without cover throughout. Rider Ben Melham was of the opinion his mount would be better suited on a track with more give. A post race veterinary examination revealed a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again.

I’m Too Hot - laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.

Flash Cash - briefly held up for clear running passing the 250m.

Charlie Garcon - eased down from the 200m; apprentice Stephanie Thornton reported that her mount felt amiss in its action. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Eminent Son - rider Dale Smith stated that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate today’s shifty track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 6- Clanbrooke Racing Handicap - 1600m:

Al Galayel (IRE) - began awkwardly.

No Fairy (NZ) - raced three wide without cover from the 1000m.

Trenchant - when giving ground, was eased at the 300m when crowded for room by No Fairy (NZ), which shifted in before being straightened.

Fontein Lad - laid inwards in the home straight.

Summer Glen - rider Michael Dee reported that his mount had to work hard early which may have affected it over the latter stages of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 7- Moorookyle Park Handicap - 1400m:

Fille Champagne - began awkwardly. Rider Stephen Baster could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Millie The Missile - began awkwardly.

Pria Eclipse - raced wide with cover until leading the field passing the 800m.

Elegantly Wasted - eased passing the 1000m to avoid the heels of Miss Adequate, which was being taken in by Pria Eclipse (Lucinda Doodt); apprentice Lucinda Doodt was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.

Nil Desperandum - over-raced through the middle stages. Rider Billy Egan stated that when placed under pressure his mount failed to stretch out and as he was concerned with its action he eased it down, and in his opinion would appreciate tracks with more give. A post race veterinary examination detected a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again.

Alaskan Sun - raced three wide without cover.

Lady Lee - held up for clear running from the 400m until passing the 300m.

Miss Adequate - rider Craig Williams stated that near the 200m, his mount felt as if it had gone amiss and for this reason he eased it down over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 8- Ladbrokes Protest Payout Handicap - 1400m:

Sir Prospector (USA) - bounded at the start and was slow go begin.

Kapset - began awkwardly. Checked at the 100m when tightened for room between Ballet Master (NZ), which layed in slightly under pressure before being straightened, and Wenner which shifted out abruptly under pressure before being straightened by its rider. Given that both riders attempted to straighten their mounts while shifting ground, Stewards did not hold any one rider at fault however notified them both that when in similar circumstances to attempt to straighten their mounts sooner than they did.

Red Choux’s (NZ) - checked passing the 1000m to avoid the heels of Shauquin (NZ), which was giving ground, and whilst Red Choux raced neatly on the inside of Boss Coni.

Wenner - shifted in abruptly towards the running rail near the 1000m and as a result Ballet Master (NZ), which was following, was then checked to avoid the heels of Wenner. Shifted out abruptly near the 100m before being straightened.

Ballet Master (NZ) - checked to avoid the heels of Wenner near the 1000m.

Boss Coni - raced wide without cover.

Stryke Rock - laid inwards in the home straight placing Michael Walker at a disadvantage in riding the gelding.

Haripour (IRE) - laid inwards in the home straight.

Tavonian (NZ) - checked passing the 100m when making ground and having to avoid the heels of Boss Coni.

Iheartpoppy - co-trainer Troy Corstens has reported that the mare had pulled up sore in both forelegs and will be given a let up following treatment before continuing its preparation.

Race 9- SPORTSBET RACING FORM BM64 HANDICAP - 1400 metres: 

Monumental Lady - the stable of trainer Ray Coombes has reported that the filly had pulled up with no issues and will be continuing its preparation.
