Punters behind Satono Rasen (JPN) for Doomben Cup

Punters are behind former Japanese stayer Satono Rasen (JPN) claiming a Group 1 in the $650,000, WFA Doomben Cup (2000m) at Doomben on Saturday reports bookmaker sportsbet.com.au early on Friday afternoon.

Satono Rasen, $5.50 into $5.00, one of six runners for Chris Waller, is the best supported runner with the bookmaker, but the Mick Price trained Oregon’s Day ($4.00) heads betting.

At Morphettville hometown hero Viddora, $10 into $7.50, is the best supported runner in the $1m, Group 1 Darley Goodwood (1200m). Vega Magic has also had plenty if support, but is an easing favourite at $2.70 out to $3.10.

“Waller has half the field in the Doomben Cup and punters have singled out Satono Rasen as his best chance. The six-year-old has a couple of runs behind him now, so he should be ready to produce his best,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Ella Zampatti.
