Curatolo suspended thrice for careless riding, outed six days all-up

SINGAPORE MARCH MEETING 2018

SUNDAY, 18 MARCH 2018:

RACE 8 [TF0357]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 08 May 2018, Jockey R Curatolo, the rider of FOREVER YOUNG, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding FOREVER YOUNG in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 18 March 2018, near the 800M, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when not sufficiently clear, thereby crowding QUECHUA (N Juglall) in onto CIRCUIT LAND (C Grylls), resulting in that gelding having to be checked. 

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. 

Jockey Curatolo was suspended from riding in races with effect from Tuesday, 08 May 2018 to Saturday, 12 May 2018 both dates inclusive (one Singapore Race Day and one Hong Kong Race Day) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

FRIDAY, 30 MARCH 2018:

RACE 10 [TF0402]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 08 May 2018, Jockey R Curatolo, the rider of SAHARA EAGLE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SAHARA EAGLE in Race 10 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 30 March 2018, passing the 300m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in MR SCORSESE (App S Noh) being carried inwards onto ELITE BEAST (G Boss), which in turn crowded OTTAWA (O Placais), which had to be checked severely. 

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. 

Jockey Curatolo was suspended from riding in races with effect from Sunday, 13 May 2018 to Sunday, 20 May 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

This penalty will be served consecutively following the completion of his suspension from Tuesday, 08 May 2018 to Saturday, 12 May 2018 both dates inclusive (one Singapore Race Day and one Hong Kong Race Day).

SINGAPORE APRIL MEETING 2018

TUESDAY, 24 APRIL 2018:

RACE 8 [TF0539]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 08 May 2018, Jockey R Curatolo, the rider of GOLDEN THUNDER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding GOLDEN THUNDER in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Tuesday, 24 April 2018, passing the 300m, he allowed his mount to shift outwards, when insufficiently clear, contributing to SOUTHERN GLORY (V Duric) having to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. 

Jockey Curatolo was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 21 May 2018 to Friday, 01 June 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

This penalty will be served consecutively following the completion of his suspensions from Tuesday, 08 May 2018 to Saturday, 12 May 2018 both dates inclusive (one Singapore Race Day and one Hong Kong Race Day) and from Sunday, 13 May 2018 to Sunday, 20 May 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) respectively.
