Race 1 - Inglis Debutant Stakes (Listed) - 1000m:

Wedgetail - after being fractious and rearing in its starting stall, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race and this resulted in a two minute delay to the start of the race.

Biscara - second placegetter; prior to correct weight rider Jordan Childs viewed the patrol film before deciding not to lodge and objection. Near the 250m was hampered and became unbalanced.

Utzon (NZ) - began awkwardly, shifted in and hampered Lady Cornelia. Checked near the 250m to avoid the heels of Magnicity which had shifted out abruptly. Rider James McDonald could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Champagne Boom - slow to begin.

Substantial - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Rider Linda Meech reported that her mount greenly.

Magnicity - raced three wide without cover.

Mockery - when laying out, shifted out near the 400m.

Jordan Childs (Biscara) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 250m he attempted a run between Mockery and Magnicity where there was insufficient room resulting in Biscara making contact with the hindquarters of Mockery which became unbalanced. Jordan Childs had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight October 20th and to expire at midnight 26th, a total of seven race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record and made concessions for the contribution from Champagne Boom.

Craig Williams (Champagne Boom) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 250m he rode his mount out to obtain running where there was insufficient room between Substantial and Mockery, making contact with Mockery which was hampered. Craig Williams had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight October 20th and to expire at midnight October 26th, a total of seven race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and made concessions for the contribution from Biscara.

Duca Valentinois (IRE) - when weakening was steadied approaching the 200m to avoid the heels of Violate which shifted out slightly. A post race endoscopic examination detected a degree of mucus that may have affected the geldings racing performance and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again.

Comicas (USA) - rider James Doyle reported that his mount over-raced which was detrimental to its chances. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

The track was upgraded from Good 4 to Good 3 at 12.53pm after the running of this race.

Race 3 - Thoroughbred Club Stakes (Group 3) - 1200m:

Jamie Mott (Humma Humma) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the careless riding being that near the 700m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Golden Halo tightening that filly in onto Assertive Play and Graceful Storm resulting in Graceful Storm being severely checked and Assertive Play being tightened for room. Jamie Mott has his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight October 20th and to expire at midnight October 29th, a total of ten race meetings (two metropolitan, eight provincial).
